**CHAPTER ONE**

In life of a man comes a lot of events called fate.

It has not been an easy road for me to go through, hmm but it happens why because; things in life come to all beings because they are meant to be.

Godfrey Geoffrey is my name born in an ancient Village called Bare (Bwazza) raised by a single mother Glory Geoffrey who happens to be an auxiliary nurse working in a private Clinic with a little sum of money, as her monthly salary.

With all these, she gave her best to train me in school, from my primary to my secondary school.

I happen to be among the best students in my class; I was favoured and loved by my teachers and my colleagues.

It was at that fateful stage of my life's journey in SS II, that I met these exclusive personalities, Lovely Louis and Oluwadara Geoffrey.

Hmm, this is how it went...

That Fateful day my physics teacher, Mr, Simeon, bounced into our class. ''Hey guys, take your seat, today I want to announce to you that, after the long-time longing to have a chemistry teacher in this school, today it has become a reality'' and we all shouted '' Now be on your feet and help me welcome Miss Oluwadara Geoffrey all the way from Ikeja, Lagos State, and we all stood up immediately as she stepped in, oh my God.!! what a wonderful creature God has created, fair in complexion, sparkling and so gorgeous.

He could not let her talk, the excitement is okay, he interrupted, so before she properly introduced herself, ''Geoffrey'' he shouted my name, ''go to the staff room and call Lovely for me'' and I asked, Sir who is she? Staring at him, and the student started laughing at the question, which made the new teacher to giggle while staring at me.

'' Ah, look at this boy, someone throw me that cane'' said Mr, Simeon, as I went out with an escape velocity, while he laughed along with the students.

This happened because I was known as the funny guy in class.

Straight ways to the staff room guess what, hah again!! I Soliquest for there was no teacher in the staffroom, except that gorgeous, elegant and sparking black beauty angel that missed her road to our village.

I went straight to her, looking at how she was staring at me, as if she known me somewhere.

Hello Miss Beauty stretching my hand for shake and asking at the same time, are you Miss Lovely?

Mr, Simeon continued, ''standing beside me, is my niece, Lovely Louis, no long introduction for her, she is your new class mate, but before I take my leave, to strong headed guys like Geoffrey avoid my niece like corona virus and give 2km social distancing. He was just joking because everyone knows me as a cute handsome guy that fears ladies, Hmm not mentioning those he goats Evanson, Ezra and Row boy. Ah.., those fellows that like seeing new skirt like tv. Miss Oluwadara over to you, he rounded it up and left.

**CHAPTER TWO**

The following day being Tuesday, I was a bit late and missed the assembly due to a hectic day I went through on Monday evening in the farm after school hours.

For that I met other students in the class already on English language that morning reaching to the class door, I sighed hmm, excuse Sir, it was Mr, Pwanzadi, he turned round why excuse? As he saw me, ah! Geoffrey I know that's not your habit, come in.

Straight way to my seat, I saw her staring at me while seating on my seat, hey Lovely on my seat today?

As she smiled without a word and adjusted herself for me to sit. Okay class that's all for today says Mr Pwanzadi as he round up, Geoffrey he called, Sir as I raise my head up '' I know you can sought yourself out, just follow the note'' thanks sir, and he left.

Immediately the class continued with her usual play and noise making while I collected Evans English note hey, Mr, he goat hope your note is complete? kuttumelesi he shouted what are you insinuating he asked, as I giggled;

I returned to my seat to copy the note while others are busy with their usual, been compose and busy trying to catch up with that missing lesson, I heard a soft tap on my shoulder, oh ooo Who must this be, turning to my left side?

Oh my God noding my head, Lovely? I'm sorry pardon my manners okay

oh no, is okay Geoffrey I know you're trying to catch up. She replied. Hmm exactly dear, I responded but wait ooo, how comes you're on this bench? Where is Mary Charles my bench partner?

I turn back and I saw Mary behind us, Mary what's up? Why do you guys swap? I ask.

No, I sold my seat to her, Mary responded.

Five thousand naira, she replied, as Lovely who was hearing our conversation kept mute and was smiling.

Kuttumelesi five what? Immediately I turned to Lovely who was beginning to laugh at my astonishment, hey girl how much are you buying mine? I asked and she laughed the more, girl is Mary serious about what she said?

Wow with my mouth unclose processing this new development.

Hello guys, as Miss Dara Borg in, and class in one accord stood and echo's, good morning Miss Dara.'' Morning to you all, you can take your seat'' and right away begin to teach and at the appendix of her lesson she gave us an assignment and left.

Ehhnn Lovely seeing that you guys sound and look serious about selling and buying seat, what about mine I meant business fah,

Hahaha, Lovely laughed profusely as she asked, are you serious about these? Yes of course I nodded in affirmation.

Days passes bye and that reminded me of that fateful day I was in the class interacting with other students when one of the SS1 students came to me that someone sent for me from the school garden. Reaching there, I found no one else than Miss Dara, good afternoon Miss Dara as she responds to the greeting and I was contemplating who must that be, hmm, about to go back when I heard her soft voice, '' hey guy, I'm the one that sent for you''. Wow, the voice sounded unusual, so soft, so I turned, I'm sorry, the boy didn't mention name and I didn't assume that should be you.

Is okay dear, I asked him not to, she quoted, and asked me to seat with her which I did.

Miss Dara: I am feeling lonely and I needed someone to talk to that's why I sent for you hope I didn't disturb you?

Me: no you didn't ma'am

That's how the conversation started, I never knew her to be that friendly, we talked and laughed an almost forgot that she's my teacher. It was awesome that afternoon the next day she invite me to her home after school hours and so it continued.

Hah, how I wish, she's not my teacher, though she looks very younger than her educational level and her age, but that doesn't change the fact that she is my teacher.

**CHAPTER 3**

Day's gone bye, weeks and months, as we became more close friends with Lovely, and more closer with Miss Dara.

We wrote our promotion exams and went for holiday. On that fateful Sunday evening I heard a knock on our local gate preparing to go to home successful fellowship, opening the gate to check who was knocking, guess who ? Hmm it was Miss Dara. Oh.!! my God, is that you, I was shocked when I felt a hug from her which feels like someone misses a VIP in her life after a while she raise her head and I saw tears in her eyes. Miss Dara, are you crying? What's wrong? are you okay tell me what's the matter?

As she faked a smile, I'm okay I'm fine. she responded.

Hmm, but why the tears? I asked

Hmm these are tears of joy Cutie? as I turned back to see if she's referring to someone and she smile with such a romantic and charming smiles and said ''love, I'm referring to you'' I refuse to belief my ears when I heard love, because I know for sure ears tingles sometimes and can be deceptive sometime, so I went in and brought plastic chairs, pardon my manners ma'am, please come over and take a sit. so as she sat, I quickly fetch her water from our cold water pot to drink, sorry we don't have sachet or bottle water.

Oh no, this one is okay she replied after seeping the water.

My mom comes out of her room to welcome her.

Mom: You're welcome dear. As Miss Dara went low in respect to mom good evening mom she greets

Mom: evening how are you coping with our village.

Miss Dara: the village is so nice ma

Mom: hmm I guess you must be Dara

Miss Dara: ah yes ma'am but how do you know, surprisingly she asked.

Ah, hmm as I stammered, I was actually on my way to home success fellowship before you came in I'm so sorry for today

Yes what is the time duration of the fellowship. Because I really have something important to discuss with you she replied.

Okay then it won't take long it's only 1hour 30minutes.

So we went. it was awesome in the fellowship as we discuss on the topic redeeming the time. We came back around 4pm, so she said can we go to the river site?

Reaching to the nearby river which was very conducive that evening

I was unrest that she has something very important to discuss with me, ah what must that be? I was in the midst of that when she asked that we seat down. so we silently sat.

Miss Dara, softly I called as she raise her head and open her eye's to my eye balls with smile and whispers yes seeing that I was like oh my God should I just enjoy staring at her, hmm hnn I clear throat, I saw tears in your eyes earlier what is the matter I asked.

She sighed and kept mute for a while as she hold my palms looking into my eyes, bling's and close her eyes and open them again as she stares at me

''I never knew I will ever misses someone like the way I missed you is barely one and half week the school was close that I didn't get to set my eyes on you''.

Ah.. my heart skipped hearing these words from her, as she took another deep breath ''why this missing stuffs''? But you know what? In that astonish stage I ask why? As she carry on '' I found myself missing you because I am deeply in love''

Looking at my countenance she knows that I'm astonished ''I know you're amazed hearing that coming from me but that's how it is, I have nothing to do about it than to confess, I love you Geoffrey''

Ah somebody should pinch me, I can't feel myself I soliquise, and not knowing it was loud to her hearing, as she smiled and pinched me.

What? She asks. I know perhaps you're thinking of the age difference, I am just 22 years old am only 2 years older than you she quoted.

Miss Dara: hmm knowing more about someone you love is the easiest task. So am waiting for my answer forget about me being your teacher, this is heart issue or you need time to think about it?

Hearing that she excitedly hugged me tightly oh my God haah.. We became carried away by that wonderful moment not knowing It was 6:30pm already, though is at the period of long day short night, so we left that vicinity where I walked her to coppers lodge,

What? I should sleep over in your house? I reacted, seeing my reactions she replied, why not, what's the big deal about my sweetheart sleeping in my house?

Hmm, with a smile, no way, remember this is Bare and not Lagos where you came from, besides it is disgusting for a guy to sleeps in a fiancés house in our culture and tradition, so for this permit me to rush home ma'am.

Dara : Ma'am…?

Me: oh no, I'm sorry love.

Dara: humm… I love that.. is okay I think we should take things slowly but promise to visit me tomorrow

Me: I will, in-fact I must,

So after then I rushed home late because, the lodge is 2km away from our street.

Reaching home I pulled out my cloths fetched water and went straight to take my bath after some minutes I came out of the bath room about to go to my room when I heard a voice, ''hey young man'' Ah I knew is my mom, I turned back, yes! Mom, ''come here'', she said, sit with me a bit before you go in;

Okay mom, but this special call, I hope am safe. You know is 9:pm already, trying to escape what I definitely know she have in store for me.

Oh …. I thought I'm the only one that noticed the time; she responded.

I smiled, because I know is all about the visit earlier.

Okay? Mama, with a smile on my face, oya...hit me with that gist accumulated inside of you, hope I can carry? And she laughed,

Hmm, if to say Dara is a Holy Ghost, the world could have changed by now. as she proceeded I interrupted by asking her of my food of which I know is in my room already.

Young man, young man, at my door post, don't you know that you're resuming to school today, my mother's voice strike my ears.

Hearing that I woke up and it was 7:00am already. Mom, why didn't you wake me up earlier?

I freshing up and rushed ridding on my new Jincheng bike my sweetheart bought for me,

Entering my new class room everyone was seated, except Lovely.

No I mean it I don't feel like going anywhere today she insisted.

After a long break, on our way back, I decided to buy ice cream and Nutri-Milk along; cause I know Lovely is addicted to these two.

Coming nigh to our class my phone rang, Hey guys I have to take this.

As I looked straight, she waved and send kisses in the air, I just missed you, and to remind you of the lunch in my house today.

How can I forget such, sweet heart. I responded.

So, that's how it was, life goes on that sweet node, as time passes by smoothly until the time my phone rang.

**CHAPTER 7**

27th April, 2014. as we sat in the corridor jesting with my mom that evening my phone rang beside my mom, as she took the phone to hand it over she gazed on the screen and smiled, hmm, love indeed she handed it over, is love calling she stated, as we both laughed.

Hello love. I answer the call , she replied, "can I see you now if you're less busy.?''

Sure, but you sound somehow, hope all is well I asked? yeap, all is well, till you come she said.

Okay then, see you later as I ended the call.

Looking at how mom was staring at me and smiling, makes me suspicious, mom what? I asked.

Hmm. nothing son, is she okay? I can't tell, though she sounds so serious today. I responded.

**Episode 1**

I will be done with my NYSC next tomorrow, as she broke the silence.

Hah…. I took a deep breath, at least I'm ease from that tension, it was later on what she said stroke my brain, what? Next tomorrow? That's Friday, you mean this Friday? I confusedly ask

Yes, she replied.

Why! Why! so soon, I sadly muttered, as tears rans down my cheeks, as I held her tightly, but why the sudden shocking news now why didn't you tell me before now?

So she raise her head, looking into my bolget red eye flowing with trend of tears, she can't help it than to sobes in tears also, I am sorry I didn't inform you on time for some reasons.

Hah… that was the saddes night I ever encounter and so we sobes for a while and later comfort ourselves.

Ah…is 10pm already, as I look at my phone. I think I should….ah, before I know it, she was all over me.

I wake up that morning, opening my eyes, and realise that I wasn't on my bed, so quickly I get up.

O... you're awake just wait for a while, with no time breakfast will be ready. She quote standing on her short sleeping dress.

What's the time? As I look at the wall clock, ah …6:30am? ah no, I have to rush home, My mom will soon be home, I love you. As i dress up quickly

**Episode 3**

Throughout the school hours Miss Dara was not seen though I wasn't panic, maybe is because of the preparation things. so after school hours I went to her house and found her door locked there's nobody to ask on her where about. later in the evening I returned to the house and was lucky to find copper Musa who was in the bathroom, whom I waited for about 2 hours yet could not finish taking bath.

The following day right in the morning up I went to the house where I made those other Coppers arranging their bags in the car, so I went in and keep staring at her door till I heard a tape from behind is Copper Chioma "you must be Godfrey Geoffrey". She says.

Yes I am ma'am I responded, as she handed me a key to Dara's room what for? I asked Oluwadara left yesterday morning and she ask me to give you this key, that all in her room is yours now. She replied.

I sob's the more, I went out of the room stares at the room with those bolgeth red eyes and close it, to hell with everything I mutters.

So she tries pushing the door which I locked already so she has no choice than to leave me alone.

**CHAPTER NINE**

**Episode 1**

I heard a knock on my door which woke me up and I lifted my phone, is 4pm already, wow, with 25missed calls of Lovely.

Who is at the door? I asked.

Is me the voice responded so softly.

Recognizing the voice I open the door, she looks so take away with her short body tight gown, not exposing. She came in and called my mom who was at the door, she came in briefly and hug me, '' whatever your going through you will surely come through safe.'' and she left.

Hey guy why is your room so mess up like this, as she sat on the edge of the bed, and you're not in school today?

Ah...I wasn't feeling well today that's why. As I sat next to her looking at the other direction because that girl can look into your eyes and tell you that you have corona virus.

Hmm okay but why have you not been picking my calls? She asked.

I was asleep I guess

That's a lie, she said, as she held my cheeks, my besty, I know why, I was here about an hour before knocking at your door, I peep through your window and saw you sleeping so I decided to sit with mommy for a while and wait for you she told me how you refused to eat and how you came home sobbing and lock your door, as she pause a bit, hmm I know is all about Miss Dara… calmly she said as a slide of tears drops from her eyes, I know how much she feels my pains. **Episode 2**

Unknowingly to me that those pumped tears in my eyes were gushing out already. as she hugged me, and said now go take a bath we are going out.

Out? No, I actually don't feel like going anywhere today. I responded.

She laughed a bit, stood up and held my hands frowning as she said ''your brain wet? Stand up jor. As she grabbed my shirt to remove it.

Okay is okay, I will and so I went out pick up a bucket to fetch water, when my mom said the water is in there already.

I went in and took a bath and came to my room and could not be sure if it is actually mine because the room was so messed up before, but what I'm seeing is so wow tidy. Why are you staring at the room like that? With smile Lovely asked

Lovely…. is this truly my room? I marvelled.

No is mine as she giggles... Wow, wow thanks for the magical work done on this room, ah…. what a wife material . I quoted as we both burst laughing.

So, what are we up to? I asked.

That evening, I just put on my casual dress, areh in polo T-shirt, black chinose trouser and copping with a sneaker shoe, hahaha you don't have to say it I look awesome I knew.

On our way, her cousin Samali handed over a medium poly bag as she lead the way to the river shore .

As we finded a place and sat, she opened the poly bag, come and see meat, multina and her usual, nutrimilks.

Wow, what are we celebrating? Though I was still in a sad mood, I managed to ask, so I can go with the flow.

Nothing really, you know this is the first time I'm taking you out on a date. She replied.

On a date? With my eye balls out and whide open I ask. Yes of course, so what were you thinking? Jokingly she said you are my date in fact you're my boyfriend for today and I don't want my sweetheart to be sad or moody, so for this can you please give me a best moment to keep as a memory? She pauses and sighs, as I gave her my full attention, fully holding my hands. Now on a serious node zero worried okay? She concluded.

Indeed that was a beautiful and awesome moment, for that moment ease the situation I was in. Afterward life goes on though with pains of missing my first love, Oluwadara, who never called back nor her lines going through, but thanks to Lovely, a friend like no other, who has been by my side helping me get over the heart break.

One thing I never get to figure out is, how Dara Left without a simple goodbye, no calls no information about her, it scares me, let it not be that something horrible has happened to her, hmm I hope not.

Time the definer of things, Were done writing our West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) so are you leaving this village immediately? I asked Lovely

**PISODE 4**

It was after a week, I heard a voice greeting my mom and was telling her, mommy, I will be leaving today, in fact our driver is at home waiting for me. Ah…. I was in my room around 4pm I don't know when I jumped out, Lovely you said one week now…. soberly I said. Is one week already, she replied as she huged me so tightly.

Wow…. look at how time flies, I observed something quite different the moment of that hug touches my heart, which I can't define what it was so I walked her home, where her mom and the driver were waiting for her. I greeted her mom, and she responded but how do you know that I am her mother?

She left walking backward toward the car, staring at me with those un wiped tears, as I also stares at her, until she got into the car, drove and disappeared from my sight, until then, I never notice that tears are busy flowing from my eyes already.

**"CHAPTER TEN**

It was June that same year we enlarged our rice and maize farms in preparation of furthering my education, I sold my bike and the Samsung galaxy Lovely bought for me and add the money to the farm investment, everything was walking well , the only thing that walk opposite to well was Lovely's phone number wasn't going through, and the only person to tell me of her where about Mr Simeon who was transfer, and for this, communication cease between us.

The rice and the maize farms were so wow, untill 17 August, where the flood befall our land and swept away everything.

It was so terrible to us, hah... no matter what I know we would feed, but how do I go about education. my WAEC result is outstanding and my JAMB 357, of which Adamawa State University (ADSU) have offered me admission already, seeing all these I burst in tears, I'm not from a rich home, here is our hope and effort washed down the drain.

As I was on these on the corridor my mom came in and met me sobbing holding my WAEC and JAMB result as she paused a bit and sit closely and said '' young man, I know is indeed hard for you, you feel like your mates are going to be ahead of you, hmm…. is okay to feel that way, but know this, there's no competition in destiny, as she pause ''hey never lost faith in God okay'' hmm…. indeed there's wisdom and comfort in elders wards, from that evening I wipe my tears and stop bordering myself.

I don't know and I'm not expecting anything from any one, any way let's check it up I opened the envelop, guess what.

Ah….. Is admission that comes with my name, excitedly as I scream.

What? My mom was shocked seeing that is true, I quickly dipped my hand in the envelop behold it came with all the clearance receipt plus one hundred thousand naira (₦100,000). Hah, hah….. My mom and I brokes into tears while my grandma could not say anything than, kulikam, ah!! kulikam (i.e there's God ah !! there's God.) resting her hands on her chest.

What baffles me the most is that the envelop came with all these, without a trace or information of the person that did all that. Another amazing thing is that the admission bears the university and the course of my choice Adamawa state university(ADSU), to study Biochemistry) Hmm… God is indeed great and merciful I rushed to my phone to call Lovely and break the good news to her, but I remembered her line wasn't going through since last four months.

The school session was weeks on already and so the following week I sailed to school, and while on transit, I heard a call from a new number, which I picked

**CAPTER ELEVEN**

Hello...…hello, who is on the line....but the caller kept mutes as I kept hellowing for about 30 seconds, then hang off.

Adamawa State University (ADSU) is situate in Mubi North Local Government Area, is such a long journey of six hours from my local government, and that was the first time in my life to have such a distant journey. As a village cave boy;

My first time in Mubi, I embarked on the journey after Sunday service around 11am and reached Mubi 5:20pm, stops a Keke rider and rode to ADSU, reaching ADSU gate was like wow!! come and see a Bare guy staring at the upstairs with mouth agape, definitely I know that day people around notice my village act, hah…hmm, but does that count? to me I guess not, I was out of the Keke already starring at the things around, till I heard the Keke guy calling Aboki, Aboki zo kayi masu Magana,the securities in the school gate stops him, and so He called, come and talk to them, so I went ahead and talk with securities showing the y admission. before they lets us in.

the Keke guy ride me to the hostel where a new guy I met help me packed my stuffs in, as I settled.

The following days Saviour helped me to locate my department lecture hall where we found a zoology lecture's on already: I excused the lecturer and went in to attend the lecture, and after the lecture, immediately another lecturer stepped in, so after that lectures, I went on a sightseeing round the school, and close to the school garden I heard a hug from behind and I wandered who must that be, for I was new in the school.

after a while I heard a voice saying '' I miss you sweetheart, so very much'' immediately my heart skipped, I guess I perfectly recognised the voice, oh my God, I shouted Lovely? Turning, I saw her in tears of joy, I know because the feelings is mutual I held and hugged her, why Lovely, why do you abandon your friend like this? You said I am your besty, but why do you block my line from reaching you? quickly she raised her head, up it is not intentional, it is a long story let us seat first.

O boy….from the initial state Lovely is such a gorgeous lady, but this time around, ah…she's just like mystery queen, more sparkling, gorgeous and elegant than before.

Lovely and I we're shocked, what? with my mouth agape as Lovely quickly grabe my hand signalling me to compose. Seeing that with shock of surprise also in her eyes, she lets us in. she still teach chemistry, after the lectures she ask me to meet her in her car.

Hey, are you meeting her? Lovely ask in curiosity. Hmm, I sighs yeap anyway, I should be going now, I will gist you later okay. I responded.

Reaching there, I saw a black crusader jeep, she wine her glass and asked me in, hmm without a word I got in, and she drove to her apartment, still without a word she ushered me into her house and hug me so tightly and kiss me, at this time, I don't know whether I should be angry or not.
