first day of training ( 2 cooking )

Old man Vishwas than took karan to the kitchen which was just as simple as the whole house. Wooden shelves were present on the walls with utensils placed on them and a clay stove was present in a corner with smokestack above for letting out the smoke.

Old man Vishwas than asked " kid do you know how to cook? "

Karan replied " I saw chefs cooking at the tavern but never got the chance to learn. "

Old man Vishwas nodded in understanding. He started taking out vegetables to wash and preparing ingredients while saying " so you don't know how to cook. Than watch and hear carefully kid I will teach you today and you will prepare breakfast from tomorrow. "

After saying all this he started explaining what were the different vegetables and what were the effects of consuming them other than to fill stomach. The same he did with the rest of ingredients used like salt, pepper, turmeric, etc.

Karan was hearing intently as his master introduced the stuffs in kitchen and the way of handling them to prepare delicious food, while also helping by passing utensils or ingredients as per his master's order.

His master than started cutting the vegetables with extreme precision using a kitchen knife. He also explained to karan some simple techniques to handle the knife and not cut his own fingers rather than vegetables.

Than began the process of actual cooking on the clay stove and old man Vishwas was doing an excellent job in teaching his student everything including the safety measures to be taken while cooking.

As this process continued slowly there was nice smell of cooked food slowly spreading in the air. Karan having heard his master rather simple explanation with extensive knowledge understood a lot about the art of cooking.

It took no more than a little above half an hour from the beginning till end and a nutritious and sumptuous meal was prepared by the old man Vishwas and served on the dinning table.

Both master and student sat opposite each other.

Seeing karan just sitting and not eating, his master understood that he was waiting for him to start eating. Old man Vishwas than started eating and motioned for karan to start as well.

After just taking a single bite Karan was lost in its unique taste. Although the dishes were simple and he had eaten them before they never tasted this good before. There seemed to be magic his master's hands. Karan than started devouring the meal voraciously and finished in less than ten minutes.

Old man Vishwas also finished his meal and ordered karan in a tone fitting of a master without any affection " wash these dishes and meet me under the banyan tree."

After speaking old man Vishwas left the house and Karan was left to wash all the dishes and he did so diligently. He washed all the dishes and the kitchen utensils used in the process of cooking. He washed all the utensils carefully showing his experience from the time he worked in tavern. The only difference was that he was actually happy working here for his master in exchange for the training.

After washing and placing everything at its rightful place, karan went to his master outside the house under the banyan tree.
