Laleen's eyes bulged out of their sockets as her mouth fell open.
Amelia had fallen into the water!
She watched her struggle with her arms flailing desperately as she undoubtedly had water forced into her mouth.
"He-lp merr" Amelia tried to call out despite the water filling her lungs.
Quickly, Laleen's eyes snapped to Shane's unmoving frame. He was staring at the pool like someone would stare at the television when watching the news—with no sense of urgency at all.
Blinking back to her senses, she walked towards him in panic.
"She's drowning! We have to help" Amelia's cry of help mingling with Laleen's urgent words.
Slowly, Shane tilted to her as if they had all the time in the world and someone wasn't about to sink into water.
"Why? A little change and both your positions would have been reversed" Shane's words were emotionless and without care.
But someone's about to die, she thought to herself as something struck her.
