"Huh?!" Laleen voiced loudly in shock. Why did Beth want to visit? That was against the rules that Shane had given her.

Elizabeth only nodded with a worried expression on her dainty-looking face.

"Of course, I understand your whole marriage 'situation'"

This was because Elizabeth was the only one Laleen had told about how her marriage came to be.

"But one visit won't bite, would it? Would that be impossible to do?" As she spoke, she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear while awaiting her friend's answer.

Laleen swallowed hard. "I…don't know"

Shane clearly told her it wasn't allowed but knowing Elizabeth, she'll probably start overthinking about how she might be maltreated in her husband's house and that's why she wasn't allowed to bring visitors.

It made her wonder what kind of a person she was before the accident took place.
