Amelia's POV

I looked up from my phone as the elevator dings and the door slid open. I smiled seeing Jane and Camellia and waved my hand. Then I walked into the elevator.

Although the three of us work in the same company, our working floors were different. All three of us work in three different departments.

Camellia work here as a junior designer. She always wanted to be a designer and wanted to work under Dean Morgan and Eva Scott, the top designer of this fashion house. Half of the profit of this company comes from their designed clothes.

All people are crazy to buy their designed clothes, but unfortunately, only a few can buy those clothes because they cost a fortune!

While Jane works here as a makeup stylist she's a college dropout but due to her luck, she met Eva Scott. Eva was her regular customer when she was working in a famous parlor.

During a special photoshoot, the stylist ditched Eva for the last time. And that's a life-changing moment for Jane. She got a job as a personal makeup stylist. She doesn't have to come to the company regularly, she only comes during photo shoots which happens quite often.

There was no doubt, Jane was excellent in her work. That's why she made her place in this company when many people struggle to find a chance to get a proper job.

Moreover, she's bubbly, and chirpy though a little wild, but that's what makes her special. On the other hand, I work in the marketing department under the marketing manager as his assistant.

I know it's boring ... but I love it. I love my job no matter how much tiring and stressful it is sometimes! Although I don't like my department head, Mrs. Pallis. So, it's better not to think or talk about it. It makes my mood spoil.

"So, what are you guys talking about?" I asked stepping into the elevator. The elevator door closed, so it was just three of us.

"We are just discussing the things you told us," Jane answered nonchalantly, I raised my eyebrows at them.

"What about that?" I asked.

"Liah, don't you think it's too strange? The guy has not only offered you breakfast but also ordered a cab for you. Then he also paid the driver. The rest of things are okay, but breakfast... I had so many one-night stands. The guys are so desperate to get rid of the girls that they would kick them out after sex. But this guy is ---"

"Different. That's what you wanna say. You didn't even meet him. How do you know he's different, Cam? Moreover, why are we talking about him? It's not like I'm meeting again." I said with a heavy sigh.

"But what if you meet then what will you do?" Jane asked with an evil smile.

"I---" Before I can say the elevator door opened, we all become silent seeing Mrs. Pallis with Mr. Carter in front of us. We all greeted them as they walked into the elevator.

We looked at their back and become silent. After all, no one wants to speak such things in front of their seniors.

---//----//---

I walked with Camellia inside the conference room. The whole room was filled with people. I quickly bid bye to Camellia and went to join my team.

Today, we were going to meet our new CEO. That's why we all gathered here to meet him. Jane couldn't come because she works here as a makeup stylish not as a regular worker. So that's a pity!

I sat beside Mr. Carter beside him Mrs. Pallis was sitting. Only a few employees from each department were allowed to join this special meeting. Thanks to Mr. Carter that I could join in. Suddenly everyone got up from their respective seats as the door burst open and a few people walked inside.

I was dumbfounded seeing the person in front of me.

What the ----!!!

As my eyes opened, I tried to look but my vision was a little blurry. Even my throat was so dry that I started coughing.

"You wake up," I heard someone's voice and found a woman standing beside me. I tried to sit on the bed.

"Water!" I murmured between my coughs.

She quickly nodded and give me a glass of water and also helped me to drink it. She patted me on my back gently.

"Thank you!" I said as she kept the glass on the table.

"How are you feeling now?" She asked.

"Better," I said with a small smile.

"Okay, you wait here. I will inform sir that you have woken up." She said while getting up.

"Wait for ---who--" Before I can even ask her, she left. Then I looked around the room and remembered whatever happened before.

"The room---- shit! I'm at Mr. Cartwright's house. How did I even forget that? Liah, you're seriously stupid." I let out a frustrated sigh and tried to get up from the bed.

Why am I like this? I always embarrassed myself. I don't have time, I need to leave here.

Quickly getting out of bed, I wore my heels and was about to go out when I bumped into someone.

Before I could fall back, the person caught me. Then he helped me to straighten myself. All the while, I didn't look at the person.

"Where you are going?" I looked up hearing Mr. Cartwright's voice.

He was looking at me with his calculating eyes that made me gulp. To avoid it, I looked down only to realize that his arms were around me. It's like he's holding me in his arms.

Damn! This is so embarrassing.

I quickly step back and looked down in embarrassment.

"It's already late. I have to go home now. Even if I didn't inform my roommate so she will be worried, so I should leave now." I said in one breath without meeting his gaze.

"Okay, you can go," I let out a sigh of relief and looked up, "But before that eat something before you go. I can't let you go like this." Mr. Cartwright said looking at me.

"No, it's not needed. I can---"

"I'm not asking, I'm telling you. Moreover, I need to talk to you about something important," he said and walked out of the room without giving me a chance to talk.

"But ---" Before I couldn't even complete my words, he left the room already.

"Why does he wants to talk with me?" I thought.
