Chapter Thirty Four : Being A Mother

"Seeing you heal me."

- Rumi

Amelia's POV

"You okay?" I asked forwarding a glass of water to Camellia. She had calmed down a little after her crying outburst.

"Yeah, and I'm sorry. I was supposed to be a good friend and hear you but- I fucked up," she muttered angrily, clutching the glass tightly in her hands.

"It's okay, you have comforted me enough." I took the glass from her hand, "Whatever you said earlier was enough for me to make me feel good. For a moment, I was afraid and scared - I thought the darkness around me would swallow me up. But when I heard your voice, I realized I wasn't alone anymore. I have you beside me and it made me happy." I said, looking at her with a smile.

"I'm also happy to have you by my side, Liah." she smiled at me, but she sounded sad for some reason. "But at the same time, I feel bad that I wasn't able to be a good friend to you."
