Alex:
Julie’s mom looked visibly distraught at the news, her eyes filled with regret and concern. “I… I didn’t realize she would react like this. I thought she deserved to know the truth, but I never imagined it would hurt her so deeply.”
“I understand, Mrs. Sinclair. But right now, Julie needs time and space to process everything. She’s been through a lot, and seeing you might be too overwhelming for her at the moment,” I reassured her, trying to ease the tension.
Her mom nodded, her shoulders slumping in defeat. “I just want her to know that I love her, and I’m here for her no matter what.”
“I’ll make sure she knows, Mrs. Sinclair. But for now, let’s give her the space she needs.”
As we stood outside Julie’s room, Kyle approached, concern etched on his face. “How is she? Can I see her?”
“She’s awake, but she only wants to see you, Kyle,” I informed him, hoping he would understand.
Kyle nodded, his expression serious. “I’ll go in and check on her. Thanks, Alex.”
