Chapter 75

I nodded, still a little stunned. I enjoyed going out to a movie now and again, usually accompanied by my daughter and often several of Gabriela’s friend until tonight, no one objects to sitting in the same row with me. However, now that I thought about it, I hadn’t been interested in going to the movies for the past couple of months.

“I guessed this is what happens when they hit sixth grade, Desmond’s nd said holding the auditorium door for me.

I walked down the center aisle and paused by an empty row near the back, checking with Desmond before I entered. Neither of us sat down, though, until we located the girls. Gabriela and Angela were three rows from the front and had slid down so far that their eyes were level with the seats ahead of them.

“Ah, the joy Of fatherhood, Desmond commented after we had taken our places. “Not to mention motherhood.”
