The blood moon pack is the strongest wolf pack and the leader is a twenty-three-year-old Alpha who took over the pack after the passing of his dad. A requirement for officially being declared as the pack leader is having a partner so his mother has arranged the omegas from a wide distance to assemble in the pack mansion in preparation for a ball at which the Alpha will declare his choice of partner or find his mate. Aztec Hunter did not like the idea of having to marry someone so quickly for a title but he wouldn't disobey his mother nor did he wish to forfeit the title as the leader of the strongest pack. With that title came a certain level of danger for which one had to be prepared so needless to say, he was physically the strongest in the pack and had the most training for fighting.

Aztec's POV

The grounds of the pack house was filled with the scents of omegas and it was getting overwhelming so I left for a run in the nearby forest. I wanted to have some fun and release my pheromones knowing it will have a significant effect on those poor omegas currently occupying the palace rooms but mother would never stop her rant. I'd probably also have to deal with a bunch of omegas in heat which they would have been forced into by my pheromones and I can assume that would be much more overwhelming than the current situation. Running would clear my head and calm me down a bit. The forest was always my sanctuary, the trees' shade providing more than protection from the heat, sheltering me in my most vulnerable times and covering me from the world of responsibilities burdening my shoulders.

It is interesting being the leader but sometimes having no one to turn to is a harsh reality. No one will ever have true intentions, being after my wealth or status. My mother is obviously an exception but it's just not the same when she has learned to put the safety of the pack over everything else. And of right now, the pack is without an official leader so her first priority is me getting a partner so the future of the pack can be secured.

As my thoughts turned progressively sadder, my pace of running increased. My senses were heightened enough to keep me from running into things so I didn't have to look where I was going. This was probably a bad idea as no more than a few minutes later, I suddenly became tired. It's as if my body refused to move forward, compressed from every direction. Did I run over a barrier of sorts? How far did I reach exactly. I knew the entire forest on the pack premises so I must have crossed the borders. It's a good thing being the strongest Alpha that no one would bother to stop me and we weren't surrounded by other packs. I collapsed and could tell that I have slipped into a sleep from sudden exhaustion.
