Chapter 6

Tony's P.O.V

I hate going out so often, especially to places like these. Zach dragged me out here but since he's getting married, I can't say no hence the reason I have been stuck partying for three nights in a row. I'm good after one night. I didn't need to get drunk three nights in a row. Last night we went bar hopping until 4 am and I had a conference this morning so I couldn't sleep during the day either. I had to forego coffee too because I learnt the hard way not to mix coffee and alcohol so I'm lagged. At least it's the last night and I'm free tomorrow to prepare for the wedding on Saturday.

I glanced around the bar for the nth time hoping to find something interesting enough to keep me awake or someone that can keep me company for the rest of the night. Still nothing. I was starting to give up staying awake but then I saw a man enter the bar. Fuck, he's gorgeous. Black hair in a fade, longer at the top and swept slightly to the side. He had a beard, not very visible, but there. It was shaved close, but not clean. He had on a plain dress shirt and jeans but because of the lighting I couldn't tell if it was black or dark blue. Though casual, he gave off an air of superiority and the clothes looked expensive but I couldn't place the face. I know my competitors. Being in this business you have to be on top of your game and he looks, though a bit roughed up, to be someone I should worry about. But I couldn't seem to worry about anything other than the fact that he began gulping drinks as soon as he sat down. I can't see what it is but I sure hope for his own benefit that it's not something strong. Robberies are too much in this area and it doesn't look like he knows that, walking around without guards. He's probably on vacation but he should have brought a guard.

A look around told me my friends are busy enough to not notice if I slip away for a bit, so I made my way over to him. I needed to know where he came from. I saw the bartender refill his glass with whiskey, so that's what he had been drinking. Tough. Probably has a high alcohol tolerance then. Or not. I saw him begin to panic slightly and got up very unstable. With the way he pulled out an entire wad of cash I could confirm that he was either stupid or a visitor to be that careless. The idiot would probably regret it in the morning after realizing he paid about fifty times the amount he's supposed to pay. Before I knew it my hands grabbed his wrist to help him out. He must have had a rough day so I'll be generous. He tried shaking my hand off, or at least that's what I'm guessing he tried to do but he didn't use any force at all. I got the money and settled his tab. I asked him his name and where his driver is but I got no response. After I placed the rest of his money into his pockets I heard him ask for the washroom.

Should I follow him? Zach was looking over in my direction beckoning me over to the table again so I decided to just let him go himself and watched as he stumbled rather dignified to the washroom. I wanted to wait but Zach was getting impatient so I went back over, keeping an eye for when he will pass back.

I saw him walk by about ten minutes later looking much more upright and heading for the door so I forced myself to focus on my friends.
