Chapter 8

Tony's P.O.V

When they decided that it was too late and we were too drunk to really enjoy the night, we left. It was rather early still but that was to be expected after three nights in a row. I saw that they were placed in a cab and gave the driver the various instructions on where to go since I didn't trust them to remember their address. My car was parked a few feet away, but I felt like taking a walk to clear my head and sober up a bit more. I know I'm fine to drive but I still want to play it safe and also because I just have a strong feeling that I should go this way.

I saw why after only a few minutes. The handsome stranger was laying on one of the road-side benches. I immediately rushed to his side thinking that he was robbed and could be bleeding out here since it is a very cruel neighborhood. But he appeared unhurt other that a descent sized gash on his forehead. How the hell did he get that? I tried shaking him awake but he would not even make a sound. I had to double check if he was breathing and after confirming that he was, I hoisted him up, wrapping one of his arms around my neck and supporting his side with one of mine so that he stayed fairly upright and I began to walk back in the direction of my car. I can't just leave him here when he might have a concussion from that head injury.

It seems like I should have just left him there because halfway to the car he woke up but would not answer a single one of my questions. He pretended like I did not exist. I was so tempted to let go of him and watch him kiss the floor but that could worsen his injury. It seems something has caught his attention, but I cannot see what it is. He kept looking towards the wall of the bar and even tried going towards it so I had to haul him back towards me before he attacked the wall or whatever he was planning to do. It seems he passed out again shortly after this.

We finally made it to the car. This guy is such a terrible drunk, easier to handle when he's passed out. I laid him on the back seat and connected the seatbelt to stop him from falling. Sitting in the driver seat, I pulled out my phone and began looking up hotels in the area. I found a few that were open, but should I leave him at a hotel in this condition? What if he worsens overnight? He was already seen with me so if anything happened to him it would be hard to prove that I am innocent. I can't even risk such a scandal, so I have no choice but to take him back with me and have my doctor check him in the morning. I have the guestroom empty but it hasn't been used in a while, hopefully it is still clean.
