Chapter 78: Thunderstorm Night (Part 1)

"Wait, what I'm saying?" Clara decided not to delve into the mysteries of birth. "Mateo, I'm going to the reed swamp to cut some cattails."

Mateo's eyes lit up, pointing at the cattails that looked like roasted meat. He exclaimed, "Cla, can we eat those? They look like grilled meat."

"Oh... no, we can't eat those. I use them to make mosquito repellent. Summer is coming, and cattails can be burned to smoke away mosquitoes." Clara explained. This was something she had heard from villagers when she was young, and it turned out to be quite effective.

Primitive mosquito repellent! She definitely needed to make more of that, thinking about the many mosquitoes and flies in the summer, it felt daunting.

Mateo looked at the lush reed swamp, he felt a little worried. "I'll came with you."

"No need. You still have things to do. I'll go by myself. I won't wander off and will stay within your sight." Clara assured him.
