Everything went wrong at once. Clara was on the verge of tears. She covered the child's mouth with her hand and gently rocked him, urgently saying, "Little Furry, don't cry!"
Clara stood up, running with uneven steps towards a familiar place.
The crying caught the attention of the unfamiliar beast. The once silent forest suddenly became restless, with the sound of breaking branches and rustling leaves as they raced through.
"That female creature is ahead! Capture her!"
The voices behind her were chilling. Clara almost wanted to scream. Clutching the child tightly, she ran desperately forward. They were getting closer, too close!
Clara dared not scream, fearing that making noise would alert those beasts. However, they were very close. The moment Clara emerged from the woods, she shouted, "Rowan! Gloria!"
