Chapter 55 : A Kiss To Remember

"What if I refuse?" Midori glared at Kiyoshi.

"Now, why would you?"

It was almost irritating how confident he was.

"I do not think that it is a good idea to associate myself with you," Midori pointed out. "Deny it all you want, but I know what I witnessed."

"You know nothing, Midori-san."

Kiyoshi reached out and cupped her chin in his hand, the coldness of his touch sending a tremor through Midori. She met his gaze, searching for an answer, a hidden meaning, but his face remained as unreadable as a stone mask.

"I said it before, and I will say it again. It is best if you forget what you saw."

Midori swallowed hard.

Seemingly happy that Midori no longer tried to oppose him, Kiyoshi pinched her chin playfully.

"Have you had anything to eat after you arrived? You must be famished. Let's go back inside, then."

"No, thanks," Midori said with a dark face.

"I want to go back home. It is rather late."
