Chapter 59 : Taking The Blame

Midori shot icy glares at Fumiko, who struggled to suppress a smirk, lest she invited the headmistress and her classmates' suspicion.

Shameless! She cursed at Fumiko in her head. Utterly shameless!

Following Fumiko's testimony, a round of murmur went through the class.

"So it's the maid..."

"No wonder."

"A maid in my house stole money from us previously. My father already dismissed him," Shiori spoke up.

"How horrible. I hope that no other employer has to deal with a thieving maid," Himari sighed while pressing a hand against her cheek.

"Wait a minute," Midori interjected. If this went on, Mai's reputation would go down the gutter before the truth was revealed.

"Mai doesn't know any of the students here. Besides, she has never even been to St. Anne's Academy. She knows nothing about the class I teach, and this end-of-the-year exam. Fumiko-san's theory is too far-fetched."
