Chapter 120 : A Bittersweet Farewell At Kamakura (1)

Midori had always thought that only old people attended Kabuki performances. Curiously, young people of the Meiji Era were able to appreciate Kabuki a lot more than the ones in modern times.

The young woman stood in a rigid pose in front of the lavish Kuzushima Theater of Nihonbashi, watching various people, mostly in groups of two or more people, pour into the theater.

Her eyes danced around the crowd, searching for Grandpa Kinoshita's shadow. Before she discovered said elder man, another person came to greet her.

"Midori-san, fancy seeing you here."

Midori's soul almost left her body when she saw Kiyoshi again. Dressed neatly in a black kimono with cloud motifs, he looked like he was about to attend a formal banquet.

"Ki-Kiyoshi-san!"

Kiyoshi shot her a sweet smile.

"Are you here to watch a play?"

"I, uh, yes."
