Visiting Enchanted Entertainment

Inside Vincent's car, Elara sat by the window, quietly observing the scenery, unsure of what to say to this enigmatic man. Breaking the silence, Vincent remarked, "My mom and sister are always like this, don't mind them." As soon as the words left his lips, he found himself surprised by the uncharacteristic need to explain.

Elara simply replied, "Sure," not delving further into the matter. Vincent cleared his throat and asked, "Where should we drop you off?" Elara responded, "At Enchanted Entertainment." Vincent was a bit taken aback, but he chose not to press for more information.

They sat in the back seat, the driver navigating the streets with professional precision until they reached the area where Enchanted Entertainment was located. As the car came to a stop, Vincent informed, "My driver will pick you up later."

Elara, dismissing the offer, stated, "No need. I'll go and see my friend after this." Vincent, contemplating the logistics of arriving separately at the dinner, expressed concern, "What will Mom say when we reach dinner separately?"

Elara, realizing the oversight, sighed and replied, "I will send you an address he can pick me up from later." With that, she opened the car door and walked away. Vincent watched her for a few seconds before turning to his driver and instructing, "Let's go." The car pulled away, leaving Elara to navigate the next chapter of her day, contemplating the complexities of her unexpected marriage.

Elara scrutinized the exterior of Enchanted Entertainment, a modest five-story building that appeared rather unremarkable. As she entered, the emptiness of the space became apparent. The receptionist area housed a girl engrossed in her nails. Catching sight of Elara, the girl inquired, "You're here for auditions?"

Elara responded, "No, I would like to see the person in charge." The girl lifted her head, scanning Elara for a moment, before remarking, "You must be new in this city. This company has long been dead."

Unfazed, Elara maintained her composure. "I know. That's why I want to see the person in charge."

The receptionist conceded, "Very well, suit yourself. He's in the only office on the fifth floor."

"Thank you," Elara replied, making her way to the elevator. The building seemed devoid of employees, with only a handful of cleaners moving about. Undeterred, Elara pressed on, determined to uncover the mysteries that lay within the silent halls of Enchanted Entertainment.

Elara reached the fifth floor and knocked on the office door. A voice from inside beckoned, "Come in." Elara pushed the door open, revealing a man in his mid-30s. The man assessed Elara and asked, "What do you want? The company has been sold."

Unfazed, Elara calmly suggested, "Let's sit down." The man, named Henry Young, retorted, "If you are here because you want to join the entertainment industry, we can't help you."

Elara clarified, "I am here about the company." With a sharp gaze, she continued, "Your name is Henry Young. You studied business but have been failing to get a good job. You are only here because of the free pay that comes with it."

Henry, stunned by Elara's revelation, questioned, "Who are you, young lady?" Elara confidently declared, "My name is Elara Morgan, the person now in charge of this company." The room fell into a tense silence as the weight of this unexpected revelation settled between them.

Henry, now aware of the change in leadership, expressed his apologies. "I am sorry. Please sit down, Miss Morgan," he said. Elara nodded and took a seat, presenting documents to support her claim. Henry examined the papers, and after a few moments, he admitted, "I am sorry if I came off as rude."

Elara reassured him, "No problem."

Henry continued, "Well, as you know, the company died when its original founder passed away."

Elara confirmed, "That is my mother."

Henry realized, "You are the Morgan."

Elara affirmed, "Yes."

Henry, acknowledging the new reality, said, "Well, Miss Morgan, I hope you can treat the company better than your father. I will clean out my things from the office to give you space."

Elara surprised him by stating, "No need. You will manage the company. I have done my research about you, and you are perfect for the job."

Henry, still processing the unexpected turn of events, pointed out, "As you can see, Miss, even the building is starting to fall apart."

Elara confidently asserted, "Leave that to me."

Perplexed, Henry inquired, "Meaning?"

"I will pay for renovations. I want the company to relaunch in two weeks. Can you do that?" Elara challenged.

Henry considered the task and responded, "We can get people to renovate quickly."

Elara declared, "That is what I want. As for artists, don't worry. They will soon come like bees." The future of Enchanted Entertainment seemed to be taking an unexpected turn under Elara's determined leadership.

Henry raised a valid concern, "But who will want to join a company that doesn't even have a single artist under its name?"

Elara confidently replied, "Leave that to me. Your job is to make sure the building is newly renovated. I will give you a new company logo, but we will keep the name."

Henry, still cautious, asked, "Miss, I don't mean to intrude, but don't you think you are wasting money with this company?"

Elara asserted, "You are intruding. It's my money; I can do as I choose. Your worry is your pay. If you can manage the company well, you will be greatly compensated, and you can get a beautiful house for your wife and child."

Henry, now intrigued and motivated, asked, "When do we start?" He recognized the potential of having someone financially supportive at the helm of Enchanted Entertainment. While he believed in his managerial abilities, the infusion of money and connections was precisely what the company needed to reach greater heights. As an employee, Henry was ready to embrace the exciting challenge that lay ahead.

Elara took out her checkbook and signed a check for 20 million, stating, "I hope this is enough to make this place brand new." Henry accepted the check with trembling hands, quietly admiring the ease with which wealthy individuals could throw around such significant amounts.

Elara informed him, "I will send a few requests for the interior design."

Henry, now more enthusiastic, replied, "Good, good. Meanwhile, I will get a construction crew to work on the exterior."

Elara instructed, "Get everyone to return home and come back on the day of the relaunch. It's a paid leave."

Henry agreed, "Sure, sure. Come, let me introduce you to the few workers we have."

Elara declined, saying, "No need. I prefer employees not knowing my identity."

Understanding her perspective, Henry nodded. Elara then stood up and made her way to the door. As she left, she remarked, "Don't disappoint me, Henry."

He assured her, "I promise I won't miss."

Elara smiled and said, "Call me Elara."

"Okay... Elara," Henry responded as she exited the building. Elara felt a sense of accomplishment, leaving the premises in high spirits, confident that she had achieved something meaningful for the day.

Henry hurriedly gathered the few cleaners and the receptionist, Emily Parker, and informed them, "You can all return home." Concerned, Emily asked, "Wait, is the company closing down?" Another cleaner shared, "What will I do? My son is at the hospital; I need the money."

Henry smiled and revealed, "No, actually, I have great news. The company is about to be relaunched. You are getting a paid leave of two weeks." Emily inquired, "Relaunch? Does that mean there will be real work here now?" Henry replied, "I hope so, but for now, the building will be renovated while everyone is at home." Emily expressed her relief, "Finally, it was starting to get boring to wake up and come to sit here every day. Even though getting paid for doing nothing is great, it is boring."

Henry agreed, "Well, I hope the days of boredom will be over." As everyone left, Emily approached Henry and asked, "Who was that girl?" Henry hesitated, realizing that Elara had instructed him to keep her identity a secret. He quickly responded, "She was here for an audition." Emily remarked, "Pity the company is dead; she is beautiful. She would make it quickly in the industry." Henry suggested optimistically, "Well, maybe she will come back after the relaunch. We never know." The prospect of a revived Enchanted Entertainment brought a glimmer of hope to the otherwise quiet workspace.
