Chapter 17 A Group of Boring People_1

This is a deserted jungle on the border.

Perhaps.

"The wind wails and Yi waters are cold, the hero departs and never returns! Ouch, why did you hit me?"

"Damn it, can't you utter some good words for once, remember it was your blabbering last time that almost killed the captain." This guy has a mental block.

"But I was just trying to set the mood." The person who was beaten felt a pang in his bruised head, looking aggrieved; besides, the last time the captain got hurt it was because he was careless, it should... perhaps... have nothing to do with him.

His mouth seemed to have an uncanny knack for calamity.

"You trying to set the mood, you pumpkin-headed moron." He almost lost control and whacked the other man's head again but this time, the other party evaded him on purpose, making a face at him.

"Enough! If you two insist on quarreling at least don't distract me, do you know when and where we are?" The reprimanding growl echoed from the earpiece, reminding them of Black Shark's stern visage. Instantly, they swallowed their words.

"Deputy Captain, our mission is to take them all down, but where did this intel come from?" Wu Ya asked abruptly. His big mouth had a habit of posing unusual questions.

Which is why his codename was Wu Ya.

"Did you forget that we're only responsible for executing missions, not sourcing intel? Stay focused, it's almost time."

This time, our mission is to eliminate all the drug traffickers in the Golden Triangle before their rendezvous, leaving no one behind. Ostensibly, it's a collaborative operation with the forces of justice. It might not be a big mission, but it's not a minor one either.

After all, they are more accustomed to such scenarios; moreover, they've just got some free time to take on some minor missions to hone their skills and make some quick cash.

However, any slight error on their part would result in catastrophic losses for the other side. Therefore, they cannot afford to make any mistakes.

This mission is led by Black Shark; apart from Xigua and Wu Ya, there are seven others on the team. To ensure not even the slightest mistake is made, each one of them has been lying in ambush all day, awaiting the arrival of their targets.

They were absolutely silent. Their face hardened, their eyes filled with a steely focus.

This is the real Ying Sun!

...

"Target spotted. Estimated 251 meters to the southwest. Fifteen men in total, each carrying a large box, probably the drugs for this transaction." The 'Thousand-mile Eye' reported through the earpiece.

With sharp eyes, capable of discerning clear images several hundred meters away and enhanced with a telescope, he's the second-best sniper in Ying Sun after the captain.

"Wow, Thousand-mile Eye, how do you get your eyes to work like that?" Xigua sighed for the 501st time, "But why 251 meters?" As if that one additional meter made any difference.

"I don't like the number 250." Thousand-mile Eye said with his usual coolness.

"OK, I give up." Xigua threw in the towel. But what perplexed him the most was, "These Golden Triangle drug peddlers sure are bold, choosing to make their transactions near our border." And border security seemed oblivious to it.

"That's precisely their cunning."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Indeed, the most dangerous places are often the safest. These crooks may be cunning, but this time around, their schemes will be their undoing.

The enemy was drawing nearer.

The next moment.

"Stay alert, prepare to engage," Black Shark's voice sounded through the earpiece, cold as ice.

"Yes!" Everyone responded, eyes gleaming like eagles.

They watched in silence as their prey drew ever closer to their hunting grounds.

"Engage!"

Finally, the ultimate command was given.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!..The bullets flew relentlessly. In a matter of seconds, half of them were down and the rest were scrambling for cover.

"Shit! How is there an ambush?" The leader swore from behind a tree.

"Kuan, could there be a rat amongst us?" someone suggested.

"No way." He immediately denied, "Everyone here has been vetted by me, moreover they are all brothers who have been with me for years, there's no way there's a traitor." He may not be aware if there's a mole within.

Moreover, the way the attackers were going, their intention seemed to be a total wipeout, no mole would be hiding amongst them.

Only a handful of people were privy to each operation, he was desperate to find out who the mole was!

However.

"Now is not the time to worry about that, getting out of here alive is the priority."

"We need to retreat!" The leader roared.

When it came to life and death, the transaction was of least concern.

Moreover, he had to stay alive to catch the rat.

Of course, Ying Sun was not about to let them get away so easily.

"Chase them!" Black Shark ordered, "We can't let them escape under our watch."

"Yes!" The members of Ying Sun began to close in cautiously.

The deafening sound of gunfire echoed through the enormous jungle on the border, until every last one of them was killed.

"Deputy Captain, all fifteen of them have been killed." After verifying the results, the team reported back.

"Good," Black Shark nodded, "Let's pull out."

The team came silently, triggered a major shootout and then retreated silently, taking all the drugs with them and leaving behind a field of corpses.

If it weren't for the scene they just witnessed, their attire, and the gear they were carrying on the helicopter, no one could guess this group was the renowned mercenary team, Ying Sun, from the mercenary world.

And they were all from A Country, that neatly whimsical land.

"I was wondering, don't any of you guys ever wonder if the boss went for his medical review while we were away?" Someone piped up. He was certainly curious.

Now that the mission was over, they finally had time to ponder over other things.

"You don't have to wonder." Someone else retorted, "I guarantee that the boss definitely didn't go."

For some reason, ever since recovering from his injury, the boss adamantly refused to go back to the hospital for follow-ups. They could do nothing about it and had tried every trick in the book to convince him, to no avail.
