Chapter 76: Qiaozi who was betrayed but still helping people count money

The Black Forest was not named for its darkness. Quite the contrary, the name derived from a time unknown to Mu Lin, when her Master had named it thus. Despite what the name would suggest, the forest was well known, yet to this day, Mu Lin was not privy as to when her Master had coined such a notorious name for it.

She had yet to realize that perhaps she was in part responsible for it.

A high-pitched eagle cry echoed through the air and halted Mu Lin before she could step into the Black Forest. The resonant cry filled her ears, deepening the curve of her lips even further.

She lifted her gaze towards the sky.

Qiaozi dove from high above. As he neared Mu Lin, he swirled around in an abrupt avoidance and landed softly on her shoulder, rubbing affectionately against her face.
