Chapter 17 Coincidental Encounter in the Restaurant 2_1

Ou Chengtian lazily leaned back in his boss chair, his deep, smiling eyes gazing at the document in his hand. He turned to his secretary and asked, "What time is it now?"

Chris was caught off guard by Ou Chengtian's sudden question. Despite his surprise, he maintained a professional smile and replied, "It's five o'clock, CEO Ou."

"Hm, good. The meeting is hereby concluded for today. As for the final decision, I will have it emailed to you all before eight tonight." After finishing his sentence, Ou Chengtian picked up his documents and confidently exited the conference room.

The sound of the door closing jolted Chris from his daze, but he still appeared to be daydreaming.

CEO Ou had been smiling the whole time, maintaining his smile even when he asked for the time.

This was unusual. Was this really CEO Ou?

Chris had been with the company for a while now but had rarely seen CEO Ou smile like that, let alone smile all day.

The boss's smile, however, was irresistibly charming.

When Ou Chengtian returned to his office, he noticed a text message on his phone. Surprisingly, it was from Xia Liyou.

On the screen was the word "madam", which only made his smile grow wider.

He didn't remember why he'd saved her number under that name, but it made him unexpectedly pleased.

And to his surprise, it made him exceptionally happy to see that name pop up on his phone now and then.

It seemed like this was the first time Xia Liyou had ever texted him.

Pressing the view button, he found only a few words inside.

Ou Chengtian read it in an instant, his smile freezing on his lips and slowly fading with every advancing word.

He tossed his phone to one side, pressing his lips together in frustration.

Where could that woman be running off to this late at night?

Didn't he tell her to come home early for dinner this morning? She must be choosing not to eat with him on purpose.

He rubbed his forehead, suddenly feeling drained. His mind was a mess, and his good mood was long gone.

Just then, a knock sounded. Chris came in beaming, holding a cup of coffee. In a sweet voice, she said, "CEO Ou, your coffee is ready."

The rest of her sentence was cut off as she was met with Ou Chengtian's murderous gaze, followed shortly by a roar, "Get out of my office!"

Without thinking, Chris hastily exited his office with the cup of coffee in hand.

Even once she returned to her desk, her heart was still pounding.

What was wrong with CEO Ou? Wasn't he doing well just now?

That was close. She felt like her heart was about to jump out of her chest.

Chris patted her bosom in fear, then turned to look at the closed door of the CEO's office.

A melodious ringtone began to play.

Ou Chengtian, clearly annoyed, picked up his phone and immediately answered, "What now?"

The icy tone sent a chill running down the spine.

"CEO Ou, you haven't forgotten what you promised me yesterday, have you?" Wei Xuefeng's voice piped up over the phone, teasingly cheerful.

Why did he always choose the worst times to call?

"Hm, send me the details and address." Ou Chengtian replied straightforwardly. He knew that if he didn't follow up on his promise to Wei Xuefeng, Wei would pester him about it for a lifetime. A single phone call was a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Wei Xuefeng, upon hearing he was getting his way, cheerily ended the call and promptly sent over the details Ou Chengtian requested.

Sure enough, Ou Chengtian received a text shortly after. He dialed the number on-screen.

The phone rang for a while without any answer. Just as he was about to hang up, someone picked up.

"Hello? Who is this?" Luo Ai'ai stared at the unfamiliar number for a moment. She only answered the call because it was a local number, presuming it to be some scriptwriter or director seeking her out. She had been incredibly busy lately, with little time to rest. Just when she thought she could finally catch her breath, she was once again interrupted.

But Luo Ai'ai wasn't one to act recklessly, especially not where her career was concerned.

"Miss Luo, I am Ou Chengtian." Ou Chengtian's voice was hardly friendly, as he was already abrupt and even more so due to being forced into this task.

However, to Luo Ai'ai, it was a charm-filled voice. She paused for a moment to shake off her surprise before stuttering, "You are Ou Chengtian? The CEO of Ounuo Group, Ou Chengtian?"
