If the fish aren't foolish, then humans need to get smarter.
Since the fish weren't too active in the shallow area, Nan Feng decided to go to the deeper one. She rolled up her trouser legs high and took step by step towards the middle of the river.
A few other kids trying to catch fish were nearby. Perhaps they weren't as confident in the water, and they called out to Nan Feng, "Hey, it's dangerous out there, don't go any further."
Nan Feng didn't care about all that. All she knew was that she needed to catch fish for Wild Brother to eat. If she couldn't catch one, she would dive into the water; after all, she was a great swimmer.
With these thoughts in mind, she went deeper and deeper until the water was up to her thighs.
Just as she reached this point, Nan Feng suddenly saw a dark shadow underwater. Got it! She dove in again, quickly grabbed the shadow, and found she nabbed a two-tael carp.
