*Trinity's POV*
I wasn't sure where to go when I walked away from the group, but as soon as I saw an open balcony door, I changed direction. As soon as I stepped outside, the cool fresh air snapped me back to myself and made me feel less claustrophobic. I was starting to feel like I might hyperventilate, but the air calmed me down.
Unable to control it, some tears started to fall as I played the words over and over in my mind.
I was leaning on the balcony, staring at the grand staircase below as well as all of the lit gardens surrounding the building, when Matthew walked out. I heard him walking up to me, but I didn't want to turn and show him that I was crying.
He always saw me crying.
"Trinity," he said softly and reached out to grab one of my hands off the railing. "I am so sorry about my family's behavior. They were way out of line."
