Chapter 42 : Beginning to the End

*Matthew's POV*

Fuck.

Nothing felt right in my life.

The whole last week was absolute hell without Trinity. She had left so quickly from the party, and I had tried to follow her, but she must have called a cab. So I went back into the event and tried my best to put on my face to socialize and network.

At least living with my dad had made me good at hiding my emotions. Everything seemed to run smoothly, and the announcement of the branch in Canada went over exceptionally well. Better than I could have hoped. But the whole time, I was just thinking about Trinity and how her face had looked when she left.

My chest hurt even thinking about it now.

And the words she had said as she left…that I was just like my father.

Was she right? Not telling her the truth about the baby's biological father was wrong. I understood that now, and I knew that I shouldn't have been so quick to judge her. Without even knowing her, I had expected the worst and was worried about the money.
