CHAPTER SIX

"So, uh, do we get a taxi or something now?" Isabel looks at me, her color still a little bit green.
"Maybe you should first lay down for a bit," I suggest. She's been throwing up ever since we got off the plane.
"I'm good," she tries to sound firm, but her voice just comes out as a pathetic whimper.
"Let's just get a motel room," I tell her. "You can shower there."
She just shakes her head, "We don't have that much money. Isn't it better if we get some camping supplies instead and a map? We'll be heading into the forest, so we'll need all those things."
I give her a small smile, "You have a point."
We get the map first and I let Isabel, who has more experience with reading maps, to go over it and mark it.
Her tongue is sticking out in concentration, and she looks cute. I can't prevent my lips from twitching. When she's not at my throat, she can be quite likable.
