Chapter Twenty One

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

Heather

"Where are you going?"

Halfway up the stairs, I whirl around. Gregory stands outside of the dining hall, watching me.

Butterflies beat through my chest. "Oh. Uh, nowhere."

He cocks his head and smiles, and my knees go weak. God, how can one person be this handsome and charming?

And it's not his werewolf glimmer. He's used that on girls in the past, but I know he hasn't on me. He's promised that those days are in the past, that he's only going to use his abilities to protect the school.

"You don't want any breakfast?" He walks up the stairs, stopping just a few steps below me.

I hesitate. My plan is to sneak into Professor Markham's office while everyone else is at breakfast and see if he has the scrolls hidden there.

It's tempting to bring Gregory along, but technically I'm not supposed to be doing this.

Okay. I'm breaking the rules. Big time.
