With a gentle rustle, Zyld slithered closer to Ashel, his scales glinting in the dim light. He noticed the dejected look on Ashel's face, a stark contrast to the usually vibrant and lively young one who was always responsive to their mother.

He didn't even respond to their Papa Nemus, earlier. He wondered what was bugging her.

"Ashel," he began, his voice soft and filled with concern. He nudged his head against the silver snake, a silent gesture of comfort. "Are you alright?"

Ashel turned to look at him, her eyes reflecting a depth of loneliness that Zyld hadn't seen before.
