BETRAYED, DETAINED

Sky left the palace to the Kivi, where he tried to find a way to save Isabelle. All the members of the Kivi came together to try to find means and ways of getting Isabelle to stay safe,  but all their efforts were in vain. Sky was helpless, he had to do something soon before anyone else would find out about what was going on. "I have an idea your highness" One member of the Kivi said, gaining Sky's full attention. "You can bring her here, then we sneak her out the kingdom" He said. "Do you have any idea how stupid that plan is? And what about her family? If she runs away, she will be tagged as a traitor and her entire family might die. If she is truly virtuous, I don't think she would want to live with that guilt" Cynwal said, scolding the man. "Forgive my foolishness, your highness" The man said. "No, let's do it"  Sky said in desperation. "Do what your highness?" Cynwal asked. "Let's sneak her out of the palace and the kingdom," Sky said frustrated. "But your highness, you can't. She will never forgive you" Cynwal said. "We'll send both her and her family out of the palace. If we plan it carefully, I'm sure we can make it. We have to do it soon. I need to save Isabelle, I can't let her get hurt no matter what" Sky said to them.

When Sky got back, he spoke to Isabelle about his plan. "But no one has ever been successful in escaping" Isabelle said. "Don't worry, you'll make it out" Sky said, seeing the doubt and fear in Isabelle's eyes. "Come with us. Let's leave together" Isabelle said to Sky. "Isabelle, I can't, not now. I have responsibilities, but I promise to come and find you immediately I am done" Sky said to her, unable to neglect his duty to expose corrupt officials and help the people of the kingdom. Sky called for his soldiers in the inner barracks to have a training session with, which was a cover-up for his plan to get Isauro out. He also made Isabelle send a letter to Kakra, where she told her mother some people would come to get her so that they could all meet, hiding the truth from her mother, wanting to tell her in person when they meet.

When Isauro returned, Sky told him about Isabelle's pregnancy and the plan they had made. Isauro was infuriated and wanted to hurt Sky, but he held himself back, and agreed to corporate. "What about Adolika?" Isauro asked. "She has been sent back to her family, but her family hasn't spoken a word about her. Perhaps she is in some kind of punishment. Her family is a strict one" Sky said to Isauro, unaware that Nyxerias was actually Madolika, since he had never seen her before. Hearing this, Isauro was confused, but he knew if she had to leave, it was for a good reason. Isabelle refused to meet Isauro. She was too ashamed to look him in the eyes. It wasn't until the next day, when they were about to leave, that she met him. "Isabelle" Isauro called out to his sister, but she had her eyes on the floor. Isauro went to her and gave her a hug. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of you" Isauro said to her.  Isauro, Isabelle and Sky made their way for the cave.

When they got to the entrance of the cave, they saw, standing before them, the king, and his guards. Unaware of whom they had just met, Isauro unsheathed his sword, ready to protect his sister. "That's my father" Sky said as he gently touched Isauro's hand, telling him to put his sword away. "What is this?" The king asked them. "Father, please let them go" Sky said. "And what if I do not?" The king asked Sky. Sky unsheathed his sword and brought it to his neck. "You'd kill yourself for this maid? And what about Kivi? And your plans for the people?" The king asked, taking Sky by surprise, because all the things he thought were secret seemed not to be. "How do you know about Kivi?" Sky asked his father. "There is nothing in this palace I do not know about. You think you always moved about so freely because I was foolish? I know everything son, I also know, that the young maid is carrying your child, and her mother is at the Kivi. If you surrender and return with me, her mother will be safe…" The king said but was cut short by Isabelle, who went down on her knees. "Please don't kill her. Please…Sky, don't do this, let's go back. If my mother dies, I don't know what I'll do. Please" Isabelle cried. Sky dropped his sword out of helplessness as Isauro comforted Isabelle. "Prince Sky, let's have a chat" The king said to Sky. "Promise me they'll be safe" Sky said. "Their life and death is all in your hands. Make the right decision" The king said and they walked back to the king's room, with Isabelle and Sky getting arrested.

"As a prince, your first mistake was trusting anyone" The king said to Sky who was on his knees. Sky cried within himself, regretting ever trusting Cynwal and treating him as a brother, it was obvious since that was the only way the king would've known so much. "Father, please punish me, please just let them go. It's all my fault. This was completely my plan and they didn't have a choice" Sky claimed. "Let them go? Do you realize the shame you've brought? I've given you everything Sky, everything, but because of a lowly maid, you're betraying my trust" The king said, upset. "Her name is Isabelle father, she's not a lowly maid" Sky said. "You barely know anything about her. It saddens me that you're so foolishly in love and taking such risks for her when she was a spy for your brother . You trusted her so blindly, you even married her. How stupid could you be to get married to a maid!" The king shouted. "I…how did you…" Sky stammered, surprised his father had found out about something only he and Isabelle knew. "The maid, she told your brother everything. Did you two really think you could keep these things secret from me? Even your brother was trying to keep it secret. I can't believe I raised such weak hearted men. You are the strongest Sky, why do you act like this? You would make a great king, a legendary king, Sky" The king said as Sky remained on his knees, unable to believe that Isabelle had betrayed him. "Please forgive us your majesty, please forgive us your majesty!" Sky insisted, fighting the urge to think about what the king had said about Isabelle. The only two remaining people he had trusted, especially Isabelle, who knew the most about his vulnerability. The king was just doing what he ought to do, and set his plan in motion. Isabelle couldn't live but even more dangerous than Isabelle would've been her child, since he wanted to make Sky king. That would've meant the future heir would be the son of a 'servant' if it was a boy. The king had his own plans. After Sky had left his father, he went to see Isabelle, still unwilling to believe she had betrayed him.

The dungeon and the room beneath the dungeon

He went through the dungeons, where he saw Isauro in a cell, sitting silently, lost in his thoughts. He walked down the stairs, underneath the dungeon and went to a room, where Isabelle had been kept. When she saw him, she quickly got off the bed and went to hug him. He took her hands off him and pushed her back gently. Although she noticed his behavior, Isabelle decided to ignore it. "What happened? Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" Isabelle asked. "I am a prince, they won't do anything to me, and even if they did, it'd be nothing compared to what you have done. Tell me, is it true? Are you really spying on me for my brother?" Sky asked. Isabelle gasped and covered her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief. Her lips quivered as she had forgotten how to defend herself, looking into the fiery eyes of her prince, clouded with anger, and sorrow, at her betrayal. "I asked you a question!" Sky asked. "Ye… yes, but I can explain" Isabelle cried. "No, don't. Everyone lied to me, Cynwal, William, you…I trusted you, I trusted you more than I trusted myself but you were just like the others. You deceived me. What did I do to deserve this? I never treated anyone badly, I never involved myself in politics, I just wanted to be a good person, that's all I did. I tried not to trust anyone. I only trusted you two. A little more and lives would've been lost." Sky said, referring to Sir. Thaddeus' children. His words echoed, as Sky's heart ached with pain, a pain he had never known, his chest tightening as if the very air had turned to lead. Confusion and anger warred within him. He had given his heart to Isabelle, trusting her completely, and now that trust lay shattered at his feet. He imagined her whispering secrets to his brother, the same lips that had kissed him with such tenderness. "No" Sky whispered and stumbled back. Isabelle rushed to help him but he hit her hand away and stormed out. Tears welled up in Isabelle's eyes as she watched him leave. It hurt, because she knew that if she was able to explain herself, perhaps he would understand. She hated herself for not putting in enough effort to explain herself because she wanted him to know that she truly loved him. She tried to get the guards to send messages to Sky, but Sky would not receive them and eventually ordered them to ignore her.

In Isauro's cell, he sat silently, unaware of what was happening around him. He was worried and hurting, thinking of what could've happened to his mother and sister. "Isauro" a voice of a woman, whispered in his head. It sounded so real they he thought he was hallucinating. "Isauro, it's me, Adolika. I'm using sorcery to talk to you. You see that chain I gave you? As long as we remain in love, I can read your mind and talk to you" The voice said. "What? How? Since when?" Isauro asked. "Since you put it on. I know everything that happened. I promise I will help you" Madolika said. "No, don't. Its dangerous here. Where are you?" Isauro asked. "In the palace" Madolika replied. "How? Why? Adolika, what're you doing here?" Isauro asked, worried. "Well, I have something to tell you…I found sorcerers in the capital" Madolika said excitedly as she told Isauro about all that was happening. Isauro remained cool headed even after all she said, proud of her, as it meant she trusted him fully. The next day, Isauro was let out of his cell and was given two letters, one of his dismissal from the military. The second letter was from Isabelle, telling him about her well-being, although she didn't disclose her location. His mind was at ease knowing this, however, he couldn't help but regret being unable to meet Madolika at least once. Although he was still feeling uneasy, Isauro knew he was powerless at that moment so he returned to be with his mother, giving her the best gift she could've ever wished for. It hurt him to lie to his mother, but he knew it was for her own good.
