Colin's cocoon broke open and he came out, reborn anew. He was taller than before with an extra pair of bat like wings. His clothes strained against his body due to his new height and musculature and he quickly ripped off his shirt as he could feel a burning sensation on his right pectorial muscle. He looked down and he could see the mark stretching from off his right pec to his right bicep.

'I guess that wasn't just some dream. The mark is getting stronger.' Colin thought and opened his status.

'Crap, don't tell me that that guy fucked up my evolution.' Colin thought angrily when he saw the question marks beside his race. He was worried that he had lost some of the benefits that came with his evolution, but only time would tell. Scanning through his status, Colin noticed the changes, the most noticeable of which was the skill [Demon Eyes] which changed to [Chaos Eyes].

He thought that his little encounter with Mephistopheles, the shard of Mephistopheles, would have left him with some negatives after seeing the question marks beside his race. But maybe not. The next one was [Chaos Core], based on the evolutionary guide, he knew the skill should be [Demon Core].

'This one's description doesn't seem much different from [Demon Core's] but I can't be sure.' Colin thought and opened the description for the other skills.

'I'm not sure if me getting [Darkness Affinity] is because of Mephistopheles or not, but I'll take it either way.' Colin thought, he was no longer worried about the question marks beside his race since they didn't seem to have any negative effects, quite opposite actually. He flapped his wings, lifting into the air way higher than he thought he would, and he placed his hands on his chest, and the next second, his eyes widened in shock.

"Two...two heart beats. The evolutionary guide said nothing about this. Don't tell me that bastard changed more than just my skills." Colin said as he fell his two hearts pumping away excitedly. He decided that it didn't really matter, he wasn't human anymore, even though he could look like one whenever he wanted. He looked around the chamber, and activated his new [Chaos Eyes].

'I can work with this.' Colin thought with a smirk. Like [Demon Eyes], the only thing he could see was red energy swirling everywhere due to the large amount of demonic energy within the mountain range. But unlike [Demon Eyes], he could see glowing spots of brown, silver and even brown and lime green within the sea of red. These glowing spots were obviously the soul crystals from the dead beasts.

'I bet Bartus will be drooling at the sight of this many crystal.' Colin thought as he started collecting the soul crystals. Within an hour, he collected all the crystals in his storage ring.

[Colin, you need to get back now!!] Alice shouted through [Telepathy]

[Why, what's going on?] Colin asked

[The portal in M town, it's opening and I think...I think a monster is coming out.] Alice said and Colin wanted to ask more, but he could sense the urgency in her voice.

[I'm on my way.] Colin said and immediately started running through the tunnels. He poured his demonic energy into his legs increasing his speed and used [Aura Vision] to quickly map the tunnels.

'I'm coming Alice. And Lily.' He thought while running as fast as he could through the tunnels.
