Chapter 262 Setting up a Holy Domain

"Alright then, let's clear out all these corpses." Colin said and the others, except Bartus and Lily, were prepared to help with the Windigo corpses, but Colin stopped them. Suddenly, red flames erupted from beneath his feet, burning the corpses to ashes.

[Your [Hellfire] has grown stronger.]

All that remained was the soul crystals on the ground. Colin raised his hands and all the soul crystals were surrounded by a red glow, trembling, before floating into the air. The others were surprised by Colin's 'telekinesis' ability, but Bartus and Lily knew different.

[That confirms it, there is something different about his evolution. He shouldn't be able to move objects using demonic energy like that as a fledgling tier 5, not without some training at least.] Bartus said as he watched Colin put the soul crystals in his storage ring.

[That along with the fact that he can see the soul crystals that are inside a monster's body. There is definitely something off about his evolution.] Lily said, but these weren't her only reason for thinking so. His earlier comment about Henry and his family either joining his family or dying may have been the only options, but he was too cold about it.

Colin moved forward towards the small crack in space and took the [Holy Core] out of the box. Black smoke rose from his hand and everyone could smell and hear his hand burning, causing them to flinch as he had no reaction. He placed the core down beside the crack and instantly, the orb started to absorb the demonic energy in the area and released a wave of energy. Colin was pushed back by the wave of energy, and when it came in contact with the others, they grunted as they were burned by the energy.

"Ow, ow, ow. Why don't you have any reaction? Even if you have resistance to holy energy." Lily groaned as she asked Alice who didn't react at all to being hit by holy energy, despite it obviously burning her.

"It doesn't hurt that much." Alice shrugged

"Even if the [Holy Core] doesn't destroy the portal, any demon or monster trying to get through will probably run away as soon as they feel the holy energy on their skin." Colin said, looking at the others with a smile and they looked at him angrily. The [Holy Territory] was slowly expanding and at this rate, it would take a day before it would get bigger than Colin wants.

"There is more I want to discuss, but I think we should take this meeting inside." Colin said, as the sun started to peak above the horizon. Alice quickly flew towards the hotel, ahead of everyone, not wanting to deal with sun burns after her evolution. When Colin and the others arrived, they could see Alice talking to Henry and his family on the ground floor and Colin sighed.

"What are you guys talking about?" Colin asked and they turned towards him, except for Alice who turned her face away.

"Ms. Alice was just telling us about your conditions." Henry said and Colin sighed again.

"Look, I know you guys have lived your entire life not joining any family and joining a fledgling house like mine is probably not the best of choices. But it's either that or you are held captive here the rest of your life." Colin said and Alice looked at him in surprise.

"I thought it was either join or death?" Esmin asked

"I changed my mind." Colin said and Alice looked at him happily

"I see, the we've made our choice. We will join the house of weakness." Henry said and the contract appeared infront of him and his family.

"That would be the best decision, but I didn't expect you to make it that quickly." Colin said

"It's not really that much of a surprise. The reason we decided not to join any family in the first place is due to the fact that each Demon King demands absolute loyalty from their subjects. They demand you to follow their rules and bend to their will. The house of Pride only accepts true demons and every other species is considered inferior and treated as slaves. The house of wraith lives on a hazardous continent filled with dangerous monsters and beasts, which demands that each member must fight for their lives. The house of Greed, well, they are divided an our lives would be in danger from other guilds trying to eliminate competition. The house of Gluttony, live in a harsh environment filled with insect demons, and it is very rare for them to not eat other subspecies, and even though we drink blood, I'd rather not. So, the best houses to join would be Envy, Lust and Sloth. But Envy doesn't accept any members other than sea demons, Lust isn't exactly the best place to raise kids and Sloth, well, their is really nothing wrong with Sloth other than Lord Belphegor changing the environment with his affinity every now and then. The point is, in all the houses, their is one fact that remains, you have to fend for yourself if you want to live. But your house seems to be a bit different, everyone works together here and you guys have better food and clothing." Henry explained. The house have shown him and his family immense hostility, giving them clothes and food. Most of it was due to Alice, but still.

"What exactly do you mean by the house of Lust isn't the best place to raise children? I grew within the family and I turned out fine." Lily said with a frown, a bit pissed off about Henry's comment on her family.

"I've been to Lust ring, and I've seen lust demons literally having sex in an alleyway. You guys have no decency and I refuse to raise my daughters in such an environment." Henry said and Lily was instantly pissed

"You-" Lily said, ready to get in an argument, but Colin interrupted them

"Either way, although you joined my family doesn't mean that you are safe. The house of Wraith and Pride are after me and more demon families might follow suit. You will have to fight if you want to protect your family." Colin said

"Of course, I've already been doing that my entire life." Henry said and Colin nodded his head.
