Chapter 299 New Recruits

After taking a bath, Colin headed downstairs towards where everyone was moving about, preparing for a possible fight. His mind was clouded by what happened last night, but he quickly shook it out of his head, as he didn't have time to think about that. Using [Telepathy], he inquired about the location of Skorn and the other two orcs he managed to get from Askalad and soon found that they were inside one of the rooms. Since he won the duel, their contracts were transferred to him, meaning that they were 'unoffical' members of his family.

Colin entered the room they were in, and he could see the three of them sitting on the floor, glaring at the door. Looking at the three of them so closely, he could tell the differences between them easily, which wasn't much. First of all, Skorn was taller than his lesser evolved clansmen, with him being well over two meters tall while they were barely there. Second, were the tattoos, Skorn's were golden while the other's were red.

"Good morning, how are you guys feeling?" I asked and took a chair, before taking a seat

"Skip the bullshit. We are your slaves, and we are bound to do whatever you want." Skorn said angrily and I sighed. I telepathically asked someone to bring us breakfast, which didn't go over too well with the kitchen staff, but I was starving and I'm guessing these guys were too.

"Look, I'm not keen on the idea of keeping slaves. So, I want you guys to officially join the family, if you want and then you can help me take down Askalad. If you refuse, then I'll release you after we defeat Askalad." I said and they looked at me in shock

"You're lying." Skorn growled out

"You wanna make a contract with me then to prove it." I said and the three of them looked at each other, before Skorn nodded his head. I presented the three of them with a simple contract, with the terms in stated previously and they eagerly clicked yes.

"...Why are you doing this? You could have simply ordered us to help you and we would have no choice but to obey. And you would also have three powerful warriors at your beck and call." Skorn hesitantly asked

"I told you, I'm not keen on the idea of keeping slaves." Colin replied and Skorn went into deep contemplation. Soon, the door swung open and Lily along with three other high Daimonis entered the room, holding trays filled with food. The food varied, and vaguely looked like things they used to eat before all this started, along with a tray full of meat.

"So this is the guy you fought yesterday?" Lily asked as she looked at Skorn and he glared back. She grabbed a chair and sat beside Colin.

[How's Alice?] He asked while eating a plate of food, and he watched as the orcs relished the food they were given. He already knew that a demon's diet mostly consisted of the flesh of demonic beasts, so it was no surprise that they focused on the fruits and vegetables. They ate without a shred of table manners, eagerly shoving food into their mouths, but strangely, it wasn't off putting.

[She's still sleeping, and I gave her some of my blood before she drifted off. I may have drained too much of her vitality.] Lily said apologetically

[Vitality? That would explain why I felt so drained. Either way, what am I going to do about these guys? I can make the two tier 4s members, but Skorn is a problem.] Colin said

[You could make him a knight? Each Demon King has five knights in total, each of them bearing the name of the family. They are allowed to be on the same evolutionary tier as the Demon King.] Lily said

[W-wait, does that mean there are possibly six tier 8s in all demon houses?] Colin asked, terrified at the notion

[No, as I said, becoming a tier 8 is different from other tiers. You don't need to just gather exp, but you also need to absorb chaos energy, and not everyone can do that. But their might be two or three in each family, we have two besides my mother in ours.] She said proudly, and Colin's expression became dark.

'We're fucked.'

"We have decided. We'll join your family." Skorn said, after they had finished eating

"Good."
