Chapter 306 War is here(2)

"Didn't get enough sleep last night?!!" Askalad asked with a malicious smile, his voice traveling to all of their ears, when he saw the bags under Colin's eyes. That did it for Colin, and he was about to launch himself towards Askalad, but Skorn beat him to it.

"Askalad!!!" Skorn roared as he jumped from the wall, covering the huge distance between him and Askalad. Covering the distance in an instant, Skorn swung his fist towards Askalad and both of them crashed a distance away, carving a path through the forest. Askalad held Skorn's fist with both his hands and a confident smirk appeared on his face. Angered, Skorn lifted his fist to deliver another punch, but before he could, a thick red aura spring from his body, pushing Skorn off.

"Skorn, I knew you would have been the one to face me." Askalad said excitedly and a swirling blue portal appeared beside him, with a glaive extending out of it. The glaive's shaft was wooden and black in colour, with a golden blade at the end. All his life, Askalad was underestimated by everyone, being the youngest son of the Duke of Enelysios and having no significant achievement to his name, he wasn't taken seriously by anyone. Hell, his father gave him a great orc, a creature inferior to Demon Viscount's, to protect him. That's how little his father thought of him.

"I'll show you, just how inferior a mere great orc is to me!!" Askalad roared as he charged at Skorn and Skorn quickly created a battle axe.

"I guess Skorn got to him first." Colin clicked his tongue as fierce lightning strikes appeared in the distance as both Skorn and Askalad clashed fiercely. Colin looked down at the warthogs charging the wall, and then at the army advancing towards them with a frown.

'Does this guy really think a bunch of mere beasts can keep us occupied? I know he's dumb, but a demon from the underworld, he should be smarter than that.' Colin thought with a frown

[Bartus and I will take care of the warthogs, the rest of you take care of the army. Lily watch over them.] Colin said and as soon as he did, Alice launched herself towards the enemy furiously, surprising Colin.

[I'll watch her.] Lily said, flying after her and the rest of the family also hopped over the wall and charged at the enemy. Colin nodded his head towards Bartus and both of them charged towards the warthogs.

[You know, I remember saying that fighting and protecting my guild members would have been your job.] Bartus said, as he summoned a drill made of gold and threw it towards one of the tier 4 warthogs and it sliced into the creature's stomach, but didn't kill it, making Bartus frown.

[Sorry.] Colin replied as he crashed into a tier 5 warthog, pushing it away from the wall, but it simply shook its head and angrily blew air threw it's nose. It blasted a hell fireball towards him, and Colin deflected it with his hand, but he gritted his teeth as burn mark appeared on his hand.

[If you really are sorry, you could increase my share in profits made from selling the human inventions.] Bartus said, as the tier 4 warthogs turned towards him, huffing angrily. They fired a breath of hellfire in unison, and Bartus quickly created a barrier of gold, but he frowned when he saw the gold melting. He created six dark, misty spears made from [Curse Affinity], before firing it towards them. The spear hit each of them, but it didn't do any damage, and the warthogs roared angrily, covering their bodies in hellfire. They started charging towards Bartus, and he flew higher into the air....but they followed. Charging on thin air, making Bartus click his tongue.

[Not a chance.] Colin said with a strained smile, as he was under assault by the breath attack of all five tier 5 warthogs. His entire body was enhanced by demonic energy, but he felt like he was melting as his body was turned red, and he roared in pain and rage. Darkness rose from beneath his feet and turned into chains before launching themselves towards the warthogs, wrapping around their bodies and mouths, shutting off the breath attack. Colin charged at them and punched one in the snout, and an explosion of both hellfire and darkness sounded when his fist made contact with the creature's snout.

'Amalgamation: Yin-Yang Explosion.' Colin thought, and the warthogs eyes lost their intensity, as it fell to the ground. Colin looked at the warthog in surprise, as it wasn't dead, despite taking an explosion to the face, but only knocked out. One of the warthogs broke out of the chain, and stabbed Colin in the stomach with it's tusk, almost running him through and Colin swung down his elbow, and explosion resounded and the tusk cracked. The warthog roared, and Colin quickly swung down his elbow again, breaking off the tusk and kicked off the warthog. The warthog charged towards him again, it's body surrounded by hellfire, and Colin quickly pulled the tusk out of his stomach and launched it towards the charging beast.

The warthog quickly moved out of the way, but Colin stretched out his hand and used the [Psychic Force] enchantment of the cursed chain to control the tusk. The tusk changed direction, and launched itself into the eye of the warthog, causing purple blood to spray from it's eye.

"Just how much vitality do these fucking things have." Colin said angrily, as the tusk almost completely disappeared in the creature's eyes but it didn't die. Gritting his teeth, Colin flew towards the beast as fast as he could, and gave it an upper cut, causing it's body to lift off the ground slightly. Colin then punched it back to the ground, and continued punching in a flurry of combos. As explosions sounded out, Colin's hands were covered in blood as he smashed through the creature's skull and blood splashed onto his cheek.

[You have slain a level 6 demonic beast(tier 5), Beserk Warthog. You have gained 1,080,180 exp.]

[Congratulations, you have gained 2 levels. You are now level 4/25.]

Colin stood over the corpse of the warthog, whose skull was crushed into paste, with it's brain matter reduced to ash by the explosions. Colin muttered a curse under his breath, before looking at the other warthogs who have also broken free from their chains, preparing to charge at him.

'T-three more to go...' Colin thought hopefully, but out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the unconscious warthog shakily getting to it's feet and snorting angrily.

'....Fuck.' Colin screamed internally as the beasts charged at him.
