CHAPTER SEVEN

"What scholarship are you talking about?" Alvin asked again, and Vina pursed her lip.

She became confused on weather to speak or not. But after all she decided to talk, Ivy is too stubborn all she needs now is a push, and she's definitely gonna give her that push.

"Uhmmm actually, it's Crestfield's scholarship examination" she blurted out.

"Shut the fuck up you loud mouth!" Ivy said through gritted teeth.

"What's the meaning of that?" Alvin glared at her.

"Davina please go on" he urged turning to her, and Davina happily went on.

"We were talking about Ivy's dropout, and I suggested she sit for the upcoming scholarship examination to get into Crestfield, but she blatantly refused. I have begged her severally and showed her reasons why she should sit for the examination, but it all fell on deaf ears"

"She claims she hates Crestfield and wants to have nothing to do with them, even when I told her that her likes and dislikes does not matter now" Davina explained carefully.

"Hmm, I see" he hummed.

Alvin watched silently as she kept on blabbing, he was busy thinking about what she said. She was making sense tho.

"I am not going to pass the examination, it is very rare to pass that examination. And agian, no one from West High has ever did, so why waste my time?" Ivy ranted in a frustrated tone, Vina is really pissing her off.

"And why not give it a trial, just give it a trial and see how it goes. Even if you do not make it, your parents would at least know you tried" Davina pleaded.

Alvin was silent all this while, watching the ladies argue.

So Vina told Ivy about a nice idea like this, and she decided to keep it to herself.

This is what he was talking about; Ivy is so stubborn, she is even stubborn to things she knows would be of her own benefit.

He wondered where Ivy got this character of hers from, such a stubborn weakling. She can be so stubborn on the outside, but deep down she's a weak person.

She doesn't even have the strength to slap a person, she can't even think of hurting someone, and that is a very bad way to back up such character.

This is the main reason why he's having doubt now on purchasing that form for her. He was pretty sure she was gonna pass the examination, she's a very smart one. But the question is; does he really want her to come to his school?

He cared about his sister and loves her so much, he wouldn't want any harm to come close to her.

His school is full of bullies and funny characters, and he's so sure Ivy could not deal with that. Maybe she could get lucky and might not cross part with them.

But the thing is Ivy does not know how to mind her business, if she sees someone getting bullied now she might want to get involved, knowing fully well that she does not have the strength to challenge the person. And she doesn't care who it is, she would want to challenge that person.

What if she mistakenly come across the C4's? She cannot stand their evil deeds so she would want to speak up. And once she gets into their trap, it's for her whole time in the school.

His sister is too fragile, she cannot even bare half of the things they do, and he cannot sit back and watch his sister being bullied no matter who it was. And he was no match for the C4's at all.

This was his greatest fear.

But all the same, this is a great opportunity, and she cannot become a dropout become of some stupid fear.

All he has to do now is hope she gets admitted into Crestfield, and pray she doesn't get into any kind of trouble.

And so, he made up his mind to purchase the form for her, and he's gonna do it now before it is gonna be over, coz he heard from someone that the deadline is this week. Thank goodness Davina came just in time.

Alvin cleared his throat, and stretched a little before getting on his feet.

"Uhmm ladies, I'll have to step out now" he said interrupting the girls which were having a conversation.

He has left them on their own since, coz he was deep in thought.

"Really, why? Is it because of me? I can go home now" Vina said innocently, and Alvin huffed in surprise.

"Oh no not at all, it's not because of you. I would have even loved to spend time with you, but this is really urgent" he said softly, holding her shoulders.

"Uhmm brother, where are you going?" Ivy asked.

"I just have to be somewhere I'll be back soon, you girls have fun" he said, and quickly walked away.

Davina watched him as he was walking away, and she kept on watching him until he was out of sight.

"Do you think he wants to go and see his girlfriend?" Vina asked as she sighed sadly, and turned to Ivy.

"Naaaah I don't think so, I think it's something about the scholarship exam you told him about"

Ivy replied in a frustrated tone, and Vina smiled broadly.

"You're smiling!" Ivy scoffed, glaring daggers at her.

"You've succeeded in letting my brother know about it, and he'll make me sit for that exam. Are you happy now?" She huffed, and Davina smiled happily.

"Of course I am, I really don't want you to drop out of school" she said sincerely, and Ivy hissed.

"But I don't think Madi is happy with the idea"

Ivy suddenly blurted out in a low tone.

"And who cares?" Davina scoffed.

"That's her business, she should think about someone sometimes, the world doesn't revolve around her" Vina bluffed rudely, showing that she does not care about what Madi thinks at all.

"But do you think I'm gonna pass?" Ivy asked soberly.

"You wouldn't know until you try" Vina said, and held her hands.

"Thank you for being there for me, you've proven to me that you're a good friend" she smiled and pulled Vina into a bear hug, and they stayed like that for sometime.

"So does that mean you've finally decided to take the exams?" Vina asked releasing herself from the hug.

"Well, do I have a choice? If really Alvin has gone to get the form, I'll have no option than to take it. If I don't, everyone including my parents would not be happy with me" she shrugged and Vina let out a bright smile.

Deep down, she was praying that it should really be the form that Alvin went out for.

This was a great news to her.
