STARTING A NEW LIFE!

The cries of a baby filled the silent castle, echoing through the hallways as if an alarm had been set off. People who were asleep, or unconscious were gradually regaining consciousness as a result of the baby's cries. Two palace attendants whom their curiosity got the better of, decided to approach the source of the noice. They approach the door to the room slowly as if being cautious of something. One of the attendants, looks at her companion, giving her a slight nod as she goes to open the door.

She opens the door of the room where the cries were coming from, only to stagger back screaming in shock. Her fellow attendant goes to check out what was causing her companion to scream, only to also be frozen in place, utterly paralyzed with shock. Palace guards rush to the source of the screams to take care of whatever was causing the sudden uproar.

As they approached the room, they start questioning the women as to what happened. The two attendants don't utter a word. Rather, they both point into the room. Inside the room, the palace guards find a body cleanly split in two beside the king who was unconscious on the ground with his wife, and a child in a cradle, crying on top of its lungs. They quickly rush to the king and queen's side and move them to their rooms for immediate treatment.

The guards closed off the room where the king and queen were found and deemed it out of bounds to regular personnel. The palace physicians check and the king and queen but find no abnormalities, just like all the other people who had gone unconscious. That day, it was recorded in all the kingdoms' records that, the entire populace had gone unconscious for unknown reasons, this event will soon be named as "The Sopor Cataclysm."

The Grand Cross ordered the room where the baby was found to be cleaned, and the body properly preserved, so a funeral could be held for the late strategist. The king and queen regain consciousness the evening of that day. They are brought up to speed about the sopor cataclysm and all that has happened afterwards. The king asks for the funeral preparation for the late strategist to hastened, and the perpetrators be hunted down immediately.

The next day, a grand funeral is held for the fallen strategist, Sir Daniel Greenvein. The occurrences of the day before had totally been forgotten by the entire world and everyone went about their daily lives soon after the funeral proceedings had ended. Soon after the funeral, all the palace personnel were gathered in the grand hall by the order of the king.

The king even though it was futile, questioned the personnel if anyone amongst them remembered anything that happened the day before but as expected, no one remembered anything. he went ahead and dismissed that topic and went to the next topic, which was about the baby who mysteriously appeared in the castle. The king once again asked if any of them knew how the baby ended up in the castle and when it was deemed that no one knew what happened, the king decided to send the child to an orphanage.

A young woman upon hearing the king's decision, boldly stepped up, and made a suggestion. She was almost apprehended for not knowing her place and disrespectfully approaching the king and also going against his orders, but the king ordered the soldiers to withdraw immediately. "...young lady, which house are you from?" the king asked the young lady. "...the Kingscrown Houshold, your majesty..." she replied going on one knee. The king quietly observed the young lady then asked, "...for what reason have you done this? young lady of the Kingscrown's?"

The young lady, with confidence, declared her opinion that, the king should entrust the child to her, and that she will take care of the child. Everyone in the hall was utterly shocked because, taking in the child would mean she would be resigning as a palace attendant. "...so, you mean to leave my service and rather cater for this boy?" the king asked once again. The young lady with purpose behind her words confirms it again. The king observes the young lady once again but decides to accept her proposal.

The day of departure for the young lady and the baby comes around quickly, and the king personally sends them off, with enough fortune to cater for the baby until he is of age. The two then set on their journey to a little territory in the boonies, where they will be living.

After some time, they arrive at an elegant looking manor like the kind you'll find in stories. They are greeted by two soldiers who open up the gates for their carriage to enter. the young lady descends from the carriage with the baby in her arms and faces the huge doors of the manor. The doors swing open to display a stunning interior, that literally glittered. They are greeted by attendants, lined to their left and right sides, and soldiers at the end, facing the young lady. The soldier in the middle shouts on top of her voice saying, "...the first daughter of the house of Kingscrown has arrived! We greet the jewel of the house of Kinscrown, Addelaide Kingscrown!" the rest all respond in unison saying, "...all hail the princess..." whiles the attendants take a bow, and the soldiers strike a salute.

The young lady smile, and responds saying, "...forget about such formalities in this manor. Until we have a guest, there is no need for formalities and that is an order..." The soldier who announced the young lady's arrival comes over to her and hugs her with a big smile and says, " It's good to have you back again sister, and once again, it's an honor to work under you." The young lady replies in kind, saying she couldn't have asked for any other personnel as good as them.

The atmosphere in the manor was always lively and never once did I feel out of place. The attendants were all friendly and welcoming. My mother Addelaide showed me the most affection and always provided for me. I was glad that I was born to such a wonderful person. Four months pass by quickly and I'm able to crawl now. gaining this ability really activated the adventurer in me. I always wanted to explore the large manor and find out all that it held. On one of my expeditions, I chanced upon the library, where there were books on shelves as far as I could see.

With my memories from paradise, I knew that I would definitely find information about this world, and other clusters of knowledge. I crawl around and find stacks of books packed beside one of the shelves. It seems someone was here not so long ago. With the knowledge I acquired in paradise, it was easy for me to deduce the language and read the contents of the books. I found out information about the world, magic, martial arts, battle strategies, weapons, technology and many other things I found interesting. It had become my secrete hideout and routine, going into the library, and reading the books there.

I always did it in secrecy because, I didn't know how they will react to a five months old baby being able to read such books. I can't risk them finding me out. I continued to visit the library, and practiced the mana training methods I had read, gradually growing in power as my body also grew.
