I sit meditating in the rain with "Turquoise Ripple" planted in front of me on Drop-bit Hill. I'm able to harness about 20 percent of my sealed power now after four years. I stand up pulling out the sword slowly, then with a swish I sheathe the blade gently. The whole section c plantation of Odum trees on our land all fall with loud crashes. Birds fly off the trees as they fall and just for a split second, as if something was giving me a warning, I feel a strong mana presence of a magical beast. It seems I disturbed the guardian's beauty sleep.
As usual, my curiosity gets the better of me and casting a speed buff on myself, I sprint towards the direction where I sensed the mana. On my way there, I'm crossed by a night ranger out of nowhere. It startles me for a second, but I recover quickly releasing a bit of my mana to scare it away. It whimpers and them bows down to me. I don't waste any more time on it and rather, I cast a body strengthening spell and leap into the air. I spot a cave in the distance and assume that is where I will find the guardian. I instantly circulate the air around me making me glide temporarily towards the cave. I land softly right in front of the cave and pull out my sword just as a precaution.
In its dark shadows, I see gigantic figure, one which makes the hair at the back of my neck perk up. I cast a light spell to luminate the cave immediately so I could see clearly. My hunch is confirmed when I went over to touch it. It felt warm and the beast gave a low growl. It was a living dragon, and actual dragon. My heart skips a beat and starts to best rapidly. As I'm walking around it taking in its elegance, I spot a weird crest on the cave wall behind it. I get closer to investigate the crest thinking it might be related to why the dragon was in this cave. The crest seemed to be engraved into the wall and over the years, dust had accumulated on it.
I blow of the dust and dust the remaining with my hand. Then as if responding to my touch, tie entire wall gives away in numerous cubes. As expected, it had something to do with why the dragon was in this cave. It was guarding this dungeon. I slowly walk towards the opening that has just been created totally forgetting about the dragon. Then as if to remind me of its presence, the dragon awakens roaring with its wings spread wide horizontally. I'm totally crippled with fear standing before a being which stood about 60 meters above me. I stagger backwards in fear and end up tripping on a stone. I fall to the ground withing the just opened area unable to get back to my feet, just waiting for my end. just as the gigantic dragon rushed towards me, my luck finally kicks in.
The cube pieces come back in place reforming the wall. I hear the dragon crash hard into the wall and go silent. I finally catch my breath, breathing a sigh of relief. After I've calmed myself, I finally get up to explore the dungeon I just entered. When I turn and walk about 20 minutes towards north, I finally come across a monument about seven feet tall of a man with two swords levitating beside it to the left and right respectively. The monument is also placed to a platform which is about 15 meters high with stairs in front of it. The walls and ceiling seemed to be made of magic crystals which luminate the place. I walk up the stairs and finally make it to the monument. its size and resemblance to a human was astounding. Now that I'm up close, I finally see the swords in detail. One is pitch black with a glossy look like glass and crimson engravings close to the hilt which was also pitch black with crimson wrapped neatly around it for a good grip. The other blade on the other hand had a white silver blade with royal blue engravings close to a midnight blue hilt and navy blue wrapping for better grip.
The white silver sword gave of a feeling that was familiar to the feeling I got from the healing lake of Mt. Dezora which I discovered during one of my training sessions on the mountain. I didn't waste the opportunity to help myself the swords. I swing them around a few times to test them out and they didn't fall short of a legendary sword you will find hidden in an unknown dungeon. I study them once more, focusing on the engravings on it. It was written in ancient "magidestan" a language long forgotten by the world and only known to those who seek the truths of the past. I found a book on it in the library back at home and ended up learning the language. The engravings read, "Chaos leads to peace" on the black blade, and " Peace leads to chaos" on the white silver blade then the remaining engravings on seemed to make sense if the text from both were read as one. It read "ye who holds chaos and peace in them harmoniously may claim."
Immediately I'm done reading them, the texts start to glow and resonate. Something within me also resonate with them. The energy continues to build up until eventually, it bursts form within me, freezing everything in place. Everything was static starting from the rubble that was flying around to the very air itself. It felt as if only I was allowed to exist within this space. Then suddenly, all the power is sucked in and released in a blinding light once again. The next thing I know, I'm in the middle of nowhere and all I could see for miles were the clear blue sky, flower fields, neat grass, and a giant tree with pink leaves and flowers in the center of this large space. The breeze was relaxing and welcoming making me feel as if I should just lay down and take a long nap.
The sheer size of the tree in the middle piques my curiosity. I spot a tiny figure at the bottom of the tree just sitting there probably taking a nap, but I don't take chances. I draw my Turquoise Ripple, and stat speeding towards the figure. I apply body strengthening magic to increase my speed and in about 15 seconds, the cold blade is just about five millimeters away from his throat. He slowly opens his eyes, stares at me for a few seconds and closes them again saying, "...is it custom to point a blade to your elder's throat now adays?" Without hesitation, I ask him who he is and how he got here. "...I should be asking you that question since you just barged into my room out of nowhere yet here you are asking me this question. Have the customs outside changed that much over the centuries?" he says still with his eyes closed.
Before I know what's going on, I'm sent flying with lighting magic basically frying me. He walks up to me and stands above me looking down at me then he says, "...I guess I'll have to instill some ancient times' discipline into you..." I quickly retreat two leaps back away from him immediately I get chance and ask for the second time who he is. "...I will answer that question if you're able to beat me in a fight, Jack..." I'm taken aback by the fact that he knows my name and ask him immediately how he knew that. Once again, he says if I'm able to defeat him in a duel, he would tell me.
At this point I just think he doesn't want to tell me and is giving such a condition because he's sure I can't beat him. Just as I was contemplating if I should take him up on his offer, he says, "... stop being boing and just prove to me that you're worthy..." I don't pay attention to him, and I continue to ponder on what to. Technically, it's just a duel and it's not to the death so losing won't even cause me any problems. Before I could make a final decision, he appears before me midair in a split second and I barely succeed in avoiding his kick by ducking. He immediately spins in midair using wind magic, then he follows through with another kick from above my head. His movement speed is too much for me to dodge this time, so I try to block it by crossing my arms above my head with body strengthening magic active, but it was futile, and he perfectly lands his kick to my right shoulder.
The pain is excruciating to the point that I almost blackout. I instinctively leap away from him trying to catch my breath. Moving my right arm now causes unimaginable pain that I just let it hang as if It's broke. He stands staring at me, expecting me to charge in, but I'm not that stupid to walk into a dragon's open jaws voluntarily. Gather all the courage I can muster, I shift my dislocated shoulder back into place letting out a loud scream. He stares at me in surprise as if he didn't expect me to make such a move. I immediately strengthen the joint with a bit of magic, then I take out my turquoise ripple once more. As it stands now, I have no choice but to accept the duel if I don't want to die. He is not an opponent I can take lightly, and this is not practice or training, so I have to take the duel seriously by giving it my all. I use body strengthening using both aua and mana, then making use of the wind magic I possess, I quickly charge at the man as fast as I can.
I dash to his right side at the final moment to throw him off, then cloak my blade with flame magic and slash vertically with all I have. Just when I thought I had succeeded in inflicting damage on him, a strong wall of high velocity wind blocks my sword, completely extinguishing the flames and throwing me backwards. I try to quickly recover on to my feet, but I receive a kick to my chest instantly snuffing all the air out of my lungs. Swiftly, he disarms me and pushes me to the ground. He takes the turquoise ripple, observes it for some time, then he swings it around a couple of times and says to me, "...you have a remarkable blade..." I slowly get back on to my feet after catching my breath totally ignoring what he said and thinking about how I'm going to defeat such a person in a duel. My thoughts are brought to a halt when I remember that I brought two new swords with me. I might not know what powers they may hold, but I will not know unless I use them, and I feel like they will be a lot of help right now.
Even thought I had not learnt any dual wielding sword techniques, I decided to wield them both at once. I take a stance in preparation for him attacking me again. I concentrate deeply, taking in deep and slow breaths, focusing on mothing else but him. I also cast body reinforcement once again, but I focus more mana into my eyes in hopes that I can see his moves this time around. He looks at me and smiles as he conjured a narrow, curved sword which looked like a Messer out of thin air. He had also decided to dual wield it with my blue turquoise he took, since it was also a curved sword. Since I was the inexperienced one, I decided not to take the initiative so he would attack first. He charged at me with insane speed as usual, but this time, I can follow his movements to some extent. He first attacks with a vertical strike using the Messer he just conjured, I dodge to the right, getting behind him instantly and I mimic the vertical slash he just did with the white silver sword, but he manages to dodge my attack. He charges at me once again, leaping into the air and taking both swords to his left side. It seems like he is aiming for a horizontal slash kind of move, so I also charge at him, and leap into the air, taking both of my swords also to the left.
I realize a shift in the direction of the mana in the area, then as if he's covered in an aggressive tornado, he unleashes a spinning slash with the wind magic as strong as a natural disaster. The problem wasn't because I couldn't copy or mimic his move, but rather if my power would match it so, I decide to make an improvision on the move. If one element isn't going to cut it, I would just double cast. Conjuring spiral wind around me, I summon flames within the wind, causing the combustion to skyrocket, forming a fire tornado but with two elements but even with my improvision, its power wasn't strong enough so when we clash, I take a little bit of damage, throwing me farther once more. He glares at me once again, as if analyzing me, then he says,"...you have talent boy, but you're not using that power of yours right. You're just wasting power by pouring your power all over the place. Get up, we're going for another round..."
