Tim took the potion and sought out Rachel. She was surprised but pleased to see him. Tim had sold enough of his soul to buy this time, he made a decision to make the most of it.

Tim took Rachel out of the city and through the forests that ringed the towns and mountains of Rythacon. They walked seldom used paths and ancient byways. Tim moved slowly and Rachel didn’t seem bothered by the pace he favored. Tim told her what he knew of the land, both from growing up in it and his extensive reading.

Tim figured since Rachel was a Traveler she was seeking knowledge. Anyone willing to spend the time and face the dangers inherent in traversing the continents wanted to learn or acquire power. Tim had seen some of the latter in his time in the castle.

Rachel seemed the former. As evidence, she moved easily through the wilderness, tread sure on dirt and stone alike. They were the easy steps of someone who had felt many different breezes through the trees.
