Flying lessons

[Liam’s POV]

Taming my dragon isn’t the only thing Piolo plans to teach me. He takes on the task of guiding me to the next level. The joy of flying.

“It’s just like learning to drive a car… or fly a plane,” Piolo explains as he leads me to the roof of the warehouse. “You’ll get bumps and scratches at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’re good to go.”

“Sounds easy,” I chuckle. “But is it?”

“Nah… not in this place we call the concrete jungle. But I’ve learned to navigate the changes in the landscape, since this place was a vast expanse of nothing but fields and forests… to this mess we call the American dream.” He chuckles. “Well… can’t do anything about it, right? It’s progress, so to speak. Certainly not a place for dragons anymore… they never thought we still exist.”

“How did you know?”
