"War of the lords is what it was called," the history teacher explained to the class, "because in ancient times, powers and magic were beyond human comprehension and not as common as they are now." Michela had begun daydreaming somewhere in the middle of the lesson. Fatigue was definitely taking a toll on her, but it was nothing she couldn't handle, or at least that's what she thought. Finally, lunch came around, which meant more rest for Michela. Before she could use the break to sleep, though, she decided a little food couldn't hurt and joined the line in the cafeteria with her tray. Her eyes scanned the crowd of students as she searched for her friend, Theresa; she felt they had ended on the wrong foot the last time they talked. Theresa had something good with her, and as a good friend, Michela would make an effort to reach out to her. She couldn't afford to break up with Theresa, not after they had formed such a bond.
