When he took one glance at her. He remembered the incident but one look into her beautiful ocean like eyes all the stress and worry slowly faded.
His anger had been surpassing him but when had taken a look at his wife. It all disappeared. Neya looked so innocent in his eyes. He couldn't find any reason to blame her or find fault with her. If Nahor could only realize the truth at that moment. His rage wouldn't be so much worse.
His feelings for Neya were indescribable. He believed and trusted her so much. He was blinded by his love for Neya that he couldn't see the truth infront of him even if it hit him right in the face.
He had looked at Neya so lovingly.
His longing desire to confess his love for her had been killing him for the past days. He had been so patient for those days because he was so eager to find out the truth about Neya's feelings. He had made sure that every single thing was ready for the next day which was their wedding anniversary. He didn't want any slight mistake to be made on that day. That's why he had supervised every single preparation himself.
His anger for Neya slowly faded as he kept staring at her.
Neya was surprised to see Nahor looking angry. She had wondered what had angered him that much that he couldn't wait after the anniversary.
She just hoped that she wasn't the cause of his anger.
She began panicking as Nahor continuously starred at her. She hoped that she hadn't angered him so much that he would do something bad to her.
Her heart nearly pumped out when Nahor suddenly stood up and started walking towards her.
All the bad things he could do to her popped in to her mind. "What is he going to do?"she asked herself.
She stood like a statue because she was frozen with fear.
As Nahor slowly approached Neya he looked around and noticed the presence of the maidservant who was quietly standing behind her mistress.
Abyne had been so quiet that her presence wasn't even noticable.
Nahor signalled Abyne to leave the room and she quietly obeyed his orders and left. Neya who saw all this was scared. She didn't want to be left alone with Nahor in the room. She was so scared that she couldn't face him alone . She had been looking down all the time since she realized that he was angry. She was afraid to look him in the eye.
Neya held Abyne's arm tightly indicating that she shouldn't leave. She took one look at Nahor and anyone could tell that he didn't want anyone disobeying at that moment. She didn't want to face Nahor's wrath so she apologized to Neya and left.
Neya could do nothing but stand there helplessly. She continued avoiding eye contact with Nahor.
Nahor noticed this and then called out her name,"Neya. Look at me when I speak to you. It is not in my understanding but it seems like you are afraid of me. If I may ask,are my assumptions correct?"
Neya slowly lifted her head up and her eyes met Nahor's. She hadn't yet realized it but Nahor seemed to be calm. She also hadn't yet realized that he had come so close to her that she could hear his breathing.
Her heart began pumping faster than ever. She was telling herself that she should run out of the room but again that was the worst thing she would do in that moment.
She tried to control her nervousness. She tried all her best to remain calm but this time luck was not on her side.
She tried avoiding eye contact with Nahor but Nahor noticed this and got grab of her delicate face and held her chin so that he could make sure that she didn't look down again. They looked directly into each other's eyes.Their eyes were completely studying each other. Then Nahor said,"Neya. I don't usually like repeating myself but I will say it once more. When I talk to you you must always look me in the eye. I making this clear to you once and for all. I hope you understand me,"Nahor said as he let go of her chin.
Neya wasn't expecting him to say that but she took every word that he told her to heart. Neya looked into Nahor's eyes. They were like a never ending dark pit but she was happy because of their slight change. She looked at Nahor and he was still looking at her. He got lost into her beautiful blue eyes. He looked at her wanted to tell her about his feelings. Everything would be ruined if he told her then. He then moved a safe distance from Neya.
"Neya, I wanted to tell you something. Our wedding anniversary is tomorrow and I just hoped that you were ready. To be honest myself. I had forgotten about it because I was so caught up with work and I had so much on my mind until one time when I was in the study room and I remembered a special day. I wish to make it a memorable day for everyone. Including you. I have told you my side of the story. I would also like to hear yours too."
"Me. Oh Am. Ah....."
Neya was so confused. She didn't know whether she should tell him that she had completely forgotten all about the anniversary and despite all the decorations she still couldn't figure out what occasion it was going to be.
She wouldn't tell him the truth because she knew it would anger him. If she told him. Nahor would think that she didn't value their relationship or marriage. He would also think she didn't care or hated their marriage.
She didn't want to lie to him but she had to if she didn't want any misunderstandings between the both of them.
She just had to keep things going smooth until their wedding anniversary was over.
"Sorry about that. I don't really have the words to express myself. About the wedding anniversary. I did remember it just a month before. I had always awaited this day,"Neya said as she looked down not wanting to face Nahor in the eye because she knew she was lying to him.
Nahor knew that she wasn't telling the truth but she didn't know which words were the lies or which were the truth.
He let that go because it really wasn't to his care whether she had forgotten it or remembered it the whole time.
The only thing that mattered to him was the surprise he had planned to give Neya. He had made sure everything was ready for the next day.
He was eager to find out the truth about Neya's feelings for him. He was trying to control his patience. To him it seemed like time was at it's slowest movement.
He wanted tomorrow to reach and right after the anniversary. He would bring Neya up on the balcony of the palace where he had organized everything.
If he did have the authority over time, he would go straight to the time where he confesses his love for Neya.
"Neya. It's only some few hours till the special hour comes. Not long from now will l know the truth that I have long waited for. It won't be long. I love you Neya,"he said to himself.
