I just thought of something crazy

As expected, the fields were filled. Boys playing on the field and boys cheering on the bleachers. It was a wonderful sight to behold.

Naomi's attention went to one sport and it was basketball. She took a seat right in front of the basketball court and set her binoculars over her eyes.

Though she was in the front row, she was eager to see every action as closely as possible and the binoculars made it possible.

When one of them scored, she yelled out in excitement, cheering at the nice shot. This, of course, caught the attention of the players.

"What is she...?"

"I guess she's a basketball fan."

"Man, it seems you've gotten yourself a diehard fan." Someone tapped on the shoulder of the guy who shot the ball over the hoop.

He simply stared, wondering and then they continued playing.

The game was getting long so Naomi shifted her vision to the football field. It wasn't far from the basketball court so she was able to view them with her binoculars.

The roughness of the guys playing American football got her very excited and she yelled at each hit.

"Slam! That was hard." She exclaimed a little too loudly.

The guys playing basketball looked at her and saw her watching the football field.

"And now she's a football fan?" They simply shrugged their shoulders and continued their game.

Naomi had a great time watching them play. Hours went by before she finally realised that she hadn't eaten yet. Everyone was already leaving so she decided to leave as well. It was probably dinner time.

"Hey," someone called from behind and she turned to see a tall handsome and sweaty guy walking towards her. He was the one who made that nice shoot over the hoop the moment she sat down.

The sweat rolling down his bare muscles seemed to glisten with the rays of the setting sun. Quite hot for the eyes.

"Hi," Naomie greeted, trying not to make it obvious that she just scanned his entire body. "You're the one who shot the ball over the hoop, right?"

"Yeah." He answered suddenly looking flustered. "I saw you watching. Are you a basketball fan?" He asked and she nodded, beaming with a smile.

"You bet. But that's not all. I like all sports, you see." She answered and he nodded.

"So, you do sports?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Then I guess you know a thing or two about basketball?" Naomi nodded and he smiled. "Cool, wanna practise with us tomorrow?"

Hearing this offer, Naomi shook her head.

"I'm not that great and I'm kinda short compared to you guys. But... If you insist, I'll totally be there." She accepted. "But don't get your hopes too high because I might disappoint you." She said and started walking while he followed after her.

"It doesn't matter. It's not like it's a competition. It's all for fun, you know?"

"Yeah." Naomi nodded and stopped. She turned to him with a smile. "My name's Naomi, by the way." She introduced herself.

"I know." He subconsciously said and quickly realised it. "I mean, everyone already knows the name of the girl who transferred this morning. It's even on the school forum."

"Wow, am I that popular?"

"You're practically the only girl in the school, it's be strange if you weren't." He said and she laughed.

"Yeah, you're right."

"My name's Travis." He finally introduced himself and she nodded. "I'm in class 4b. What about you?"

"Hm, I don't know yet." She answered. "I guess I'll find out tomorrow." She noticed that so many people were staring at her. She knew the reason but that didn't make her comfortable in the slightest.

Travis caught on to her discomfort and asked,

"Do you feel uncomfortable being stared at?"

"A little." She said, "Having so many eyes on me isn't exactly comfortable, you know. But I guess I'll get used to it..." She paused and smiled awkwardly. "Eventually."

Travis was completely smitten by her smile. He smiled back and suddenly started laughing, catching her off guard.

"What... What's so funny?" She asked and he shook his head.

"I just thought of something crazy." He said, wiping tears from the corner of his eye.

"What is it?" She eagerly asked, hating the fact that he was keeping her in suspense.

"Well, you being the only girl in this school means you'll get everyone's attention and a lot of guys will surely take up courage to ask you out since you're so pretty. And I just thought, what if you accepted everyone's advances? It'll be like dating a guy a day." He said and seeing her serious expression, he immediately realised that his words were actually rude. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean anything bad when I said that."

"That's not it, Travis." She said and lowered her head. 'I completely forgot about the fact that I might get asked out. This might disturb the flow of my mission.' she pressed her forehead with her palm. 'Ah, I have a headache.'

"Naomi?" Travis called, feeling worried at her sudden countenance change. 'Oh no, what if she took it the wrong way? I wasn't trying to call her a whore or anything but it seems she took it that way. What do I do?'

He was still lost in his thoughts when Naomi said,

"But come to think of it, if I get asked out by those hot jocks who do sports, I don't think I can reject them all. What should I do?" This caught Travis by surprise. She was worried about that?

"Calm down, I was just stating my thoughts." He said. "They won't really keep bothering you if you find yourself one boyfriend."

"You're right." Naomi finally raised her head and turned to Travis. There was only one solution. "Travis, you're my friend now, right?" She asked and he nodded.

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Good then, will you do something for me?" She took a step towards him and something told him to retreat his steps but he stood firm.

"If it's in my power, I guess I can."

"Alright." Naomi lowered her head and raised it, showing a cute pair of pleading puppy eyes. "Please will you act as my boyfriend?"
