The End of Semester Tournament Begins!

Five uneventful months passed wherein Shye focused on self-training.

Not only did he consistently complete his quests inside the beginner adventure zone, but he also regularly trained his body according to the specialized training regimen given to him by Instructor Fienna.

During the past five months, Shye only used the points he earned to either upgrade his attributes or purchase a necessary skill from the system.

This is because the end-of-semester tournament which would decide their class budget is starting soon.

Not only would the tournament decide their class budget, but it would also be the scouting grounds for the fourth-year students to recruit worthy first-year students into their societies.

At the start of the second semester, the first years are required to join a society and of course, Shye wanted to have a lot of options when joining a society so he plans to perform well in the end-of-semester tournament.

*SPURT*

[Congratulations for completing the quest: Hunt: Red-spotted Jaguar! You've earned 20 points as a reward!]

"Phew…Finally done with my quests for the day…Tomorrow is the start of the end-of-semester tournament so maybe I should rest early today."

Shye muttered to himself after easily killing an apex creature called Red-spotted Jaguar. He then used his remaining points to upgrade his attributes.

After feeling the familiar warm sensation that coursed through his body, Shye opened his status.

He nodded in satisfaction after seeing his current status.

"This should be enough to secure a high ranking for our class…"

The day of the tournament finally came, fireworks were exploding in the sky and food stalls were set up in the entire academy.

The end-of-semester tournament is always treated as a happy event in the academy where the students can enjoy themselves while competing against other classes.

Watching fights in other courses such as the mages, the scouts, and the archers is also very enjoyable.

Not only will a student be able to see the prowess of the top students in other courses, but they could also potentially scout out future party members.

An adventurer party normally consists of two warriors, one scout, one priest, one archer, and one mage.

When they become third-year students, they need to collaborate with the other courses and form an adventurer party for them to complete the tasks assigned by the instructors and graduate.

As third-year and fourth-year students, they will have to constantly enter intermediate adventurer zones to complete academic requirements so scouting out potential party members is very important.

Shye followed behind Instructor Fienna while the whole class followed behind him and they were on their way to their designated seats in front of the warrior combat stage.

Upon arriving, they noticed that their whole class was seated beside Instructor Brodley's class.

"Crowley!! You'll pay for what you did to me!"

Cleo Pollard gnashed his teeth as he called out to Shye, however, Shye didn't even spare him a glance which made him look very stupid.

Instead, Shye looked around and checked the other classes' captains out.

He knew that these captains were the only threat to him and small fries like Cleo don't even deserve his attention now.

Upon seeing that all warrior classes were present, the dean of the warrior class walked up to the stage to announce the start of the tournament.

The other courses have already begun their class ranking battles and the fourth-year students from various societies were already actively scouting for prospects.

"Warrior students, I, Dean Sven Snowcrest, will now announce the rules of the tournament."

"The tournament format will be double elimination which means that if your class loses two times, then you're out of the tournament and your final ranking is decided."

"The combat rules are simple, you will all choose a wooden weapon from the weapon rack at the corner and then the whole class will fight in a 50 vs 50 skirmish."

"If a whole class is incapacitated or the captain admits defeat, then the match is decided, That's all."

"Captains of each class, go up the stage and draw lots."

A huge holographic screen then appeared above the stage which displayed the upcoming matches between classes.

—---------------------------------------------------------------

[Matchups]

#1 vs #10

#2 vs #9

#3 vs #8

#4 vs #7

#5 vs #6

—-----------------------------------------------------------------

Shye walked up to the stage and drew a number. While waiting for everyone to finish drawing lots, the captains checked each other out.

The other captains knew that Shye defeated Cleo in a duel a few months ago so they didn't underestimate him even though he was only ranked 16th.

After all of the captains drew their lots, they simultaneously opened the small piece of paper in their hands.

"#6 huh…"
