Isabelle picked her way across the gardens toward the Royal Pavilion.
There was plenty of space on the lawns or on the terrace, but she'd been told Tenshi was with a group practicing meditation under a gazebo set aside for the purpose.
She couldn't help but wonder what it'd been set aside for before Tenshi arrived.
The sky was a clear, blue expanse above. Bare trees surrounded her. The day carried a chill breeze that cut right through her coat, and Isabelle wrapped her arms about herself to try and keep warm.
There was frost on the ground from early this morning, although the sun was now shining brightly, warming everything it touched.
Isabelle spied Tenshi almost immediately, seated on a mat beneath a covered gazebo on the far side of the pavilion. It was decorated with colorful streamers and a small wooden stand to hold incense and candles.
