The silence that followed her words stretched on a worrying amount of time.

For a while, he simply stared at her, striking blue eyes boring deeply into her own crimson ones.

Not shock.

Not anger.

He simply stared at her, so blank and motionless it was almost as if he hadn't heard her.

But she knew he had.

He'd definitely heard her. He definitely understood her. Even if he didn't say anything, he still understood what she'd just said to him.

As the silence stretched on so awkward and heavy, a part of her wanted to back down, to break eye contact, to drop the subject yet again, and give in as she had every other time she'd asked him his name.

But no.

She'd come this far.
