Chapter 36
GABRIEL DAWSON'S POV
I had been traveling for a few days and when I finally landed, I could not believe the difference. I was so excited to finally be in America that I had to take in a deep breath of the fresh air. As I walked out, my feet touched the ground and I felt like I was finally home.
I felt like I was in a different world. The air was so fresh and crisp, the noise of the plane engines was a distant memory, and my senses were heightened. I took in a lung full of air, and it smelled like pine trees.
It was dark when I stepped out of the plane, but I could see Thomas waiting for me in the distance. I knew he would be there, I could feel it. After walking for a few minutes, I saw a big sign that said 'Welcome to Kansas City!" It was such a relief to finally get here. The flight had been long and it felt like I had been traveling for weeks. Thomas had driven from Chicago to pick me up and take me to his house.
