CHAPTER SIXTEEN

My vision dissolved into an abyss of darkness, obscuring all sight.

When my eyelids reluctantly opened, the surroundings were strangely reminiscent, coaxing my gaze to adjust to the details.

A white ceiling loomed above, and white curtains adorned the windows, their ethereal grace catching my attention. Yet, as I attempted to move my hand, a peculiar numbness impeded the movement, prompting a voice to interject with a cautionary tone.

"Don't move your hand, Erica, or you'll disturb the cannula."
