"Why am I not surprised seeing you here?" he asked without an ounce of irritation.
I shrugged. "I go where trouble leads me. It just so happened to lead me here."
"Even after I told you to stay at the motel," he said while more officers swarmed inside.
Right after, Gran, Mrs. Salmon, and Belle ducked outside.
"If I'd stayed at the motel exactly one minute longer, I wouldn't have been able to solve RaeRae's murder, prevent three more murders, and lift the curse on the town's witches." I grinned victoriously. "You're welcome."
He shook his head with a look of disbelief. "I learned a long time ago never to underestimate you, but what you did tonight... This town needs you. I hope you know that."
"Well, I'm not going anywhere. I'm almost positive someone will want to murder me once again, and I'll tell them not today, on and on forever."
