Chapter 85

"Give me a second, okay?" I hurried over to Detective Palmer who was bent almost double while examining the chocolate pond surrounding the limo with a flashlight. "Do you think he was murdered?"

"I'm not sure yet," he admitted, "but he definitely wasn't alone before he died. I found a smudge in this melted chocolate that looks like a partial footprint headed away from the scene. It's so partial that I'm not sure whether it belongs to a man or a woman."

"Interesting." I glanced up at the camera above the caved-in garage door and noted the blinking red light. "It just so happens I have a working camera right above the crime scene slash chocolate explosion slash...whatever, but even the camera is covered in chocolate."

The detective nodded as he straightened. "I would still very much like to see what's on it."

"You got it."
