"Whoa, Sunray," Dad said when he picked up my call. "You're up and at it early this morning. Everything okay?"
"Sure. I mean..." I had no idea how to answer that, so I didn't. "Listen, Dad, Bernie's battery is dead, so to save time, can you take an Uber here for a new one? Can you bring Chloe too?"
"I was just headed out to hear old Bernie purr. This is about the time-travel thing you were going on about last night, isn't it?"
"Yep. Just like I've been right about everything else, I'm right about Bernie too. Promise."
"I believe you. It's just... Well, Chloe doesn't take Ubers. That's why we have - had - Chauffeur Ethen."
"Please, Dad. If anyone can talk her into something, you can."
"True enough," he said with a laugh. "She married me, after all."
"I'll talk to you soon, then. Love you."
