"Crime Club?" Cass asked, glancing between us. "What's that?"

"He's kidding," I said, scowling at Travis. "We don't do crimes. We solve them."

"If that's the case, then the name Crime Club still works." Travis stopped in front of us, the picture of casual with his hands in his jeans pockets and his permanent smile. "We walk that very fine line between crime and...not quite a crime, I suppose."

"We've never actually broken into anyplace," I rushed to explain to Cass.

"Yet," Travis added with an eyebrow waggle. He pulled one hand from his pocket and patted it, and I was sure that's where he'd put his lock-picking kit.

"Well, sometimes doors just open for us...and sometimes it's Studmuffin who does the opening." I winced. "And sometimes we just walk right in."

Travis grinned. "You mean most times. Next thing you're going to say is that you hate it, right?"
