CHAPTER 110. Let it Be (Double 1 Jan)

The minute the taxi stopped in the driveway, Natalie leaned over Cara, throwing the door open and urging her out. She stumbled getting herself out and I rushed, throwing myself out of my door and around the car, but Natalie shot me a look and pushed Cara up the walk ahead of me, glaring at me over her shoulder.

What the fuck was her problem? I shot after her, but an iron-grip landed on my wrist and yanked me back.

  “Just breathe, Rig.”

“What the—” I jerked back around to find Mack, looking at me, his face dead serious, as the taxi-driver shook his head and muttered something about drunk kids as he put away his little machine for using credit cards to pay. Mack raised his eyebrows. “My girlfriend is drunk,” he said pointedly. “Let Natalie help her for a bit before we go in there.”

I was still trembling. A shudder rocked through me.

  Wait? Was he fucking joking?
