CHAPTER 215 Get this Show on the Road

　　‘Mack?’

　　‘Yeah?’

　　‘You guys sleeping?’

　　Mack snorted down the link. ‘Not even close.’

　　‘Us, either.’

　　We were both quiet for a second. What I was about to propose had seemed like such a good idea, but it was hitting me that Nat and Mack hadn’t had the time we’d had. I knew my idea was going to suck for them. But I also wondered if it was going to help all of us.

　　‘I was just talking to Cara and… I’m wondering if we go back early—don’t warn my dad. Don’t let him know and maybe try to get clear on the Night Walker and Meg before I talk to him. Like… I feel like I’m just putting off the inevitable. Maybe what we need to do is get there before he knows we’ve done it and then when I talk to him about you we already have a better idea where we stand.’

　　‘You don’t think he’ll be watching the house?’

　　‘Probably. But if we get back late at night, he’ll wait to see if I get in touch the next morning. We’ll have a good twelve hours to get the jump on… anything.’
